I have an 06 and want to just replace the muffler and use orginal pipe. Does anybody make one that will fit? Trying to keep the cost down for now but want some sound.

I believe mbrp makes a replacement muffler, there are a lot of guys running iton this site. You can order one from a member that posts as Mark Craig(I believe). I could be wrong though........

keep what you have, it sounds just fine and in about 10k miles it will start to open up on its own. muffler replacement is highly over rated.

Ditto that!
BTW...
The AT is about 1/2 the size of the oe muff and it will be pretty LOUD. My experience w/ the AT is that you'll enjoy it at first then you'll grow tired of the noise.

DISAGREE:

when I got my replacment pipe for $50 in lncluding the (2) end adapters I got:

*Improved gas mileage, from 19mpg on the HWY to about 22-23 (55-60mph)
and from about 15mpg on the CITY to about 18-19
*Actual BLACK smoke NOW
*KILLER SEMI-Truck SOUND
*A little extra performance gain and doesnt rob power like the STOCK muffler does.

Now getting rid of the CAT is a waste. All you're gaining is SOUND which that will eat up the internals of the CAT sooner or later

to each his own I guess, I just didnt like driveing a truck I couldnt even here running.......I have had the aero for 9 months and still love it. course its still way quieter than my 700 horsepower street car......LOL

it will bolt right up but throws the tailpipe angle off slightly.........im **** and welded up a nice dog leg to match the factory muffler offset. but thats just me

I bought the CTD to here the true sound of the diesel and want everybody else to know what's under my hood. But I don't want to spend a ton of money. Has anybody tried the AFE muffler? Looks real cheap!

What about the Banks muffler? (prehaps I should check the price before I post). It says it deals with the drone at cruise. I tow 12K and would like the exhaust to flow good.

as i said earlier, waste of money, i have tried the DPP route and Banks. you do not gain 2 to 3 mpg just by a muff swap. it is louder and a waste. yes it will reduce temps but i am suspect if even that is worth it.

well im very happy with it and so are many more and the MPGs did go down. Just think about what the huge restricted muffler does and it will make sense
