Removing the FF canister after Air Dog install?

Mornin, DTR...

Can you remove the FF canister after an air dog 150 install? Seems like there is still fuel going there from the CP3 return, I saw a fuel line with a banjo bolt still in it...

???

TIA!

Exactly, I did this and it gives it a clean look, not that I really care about underhood looks but the factory fuel canister is just in the way and not doing anything.

Did the GDP Eliminator on mine as well....cheap and easy...saves 1.5lbs of weight on my 8000lb truck! That and my KTM sticker shaved off .5 seconds on the qtr mile! :-)

Matt, I am guessing here but after you removed all of this you have NOT seen any type of code pop up because you disconnected all of the wires.

Thanks!!!

Mark, why are you getting rid of it ? It doesn't hurt a thing leaving it in place and functional. It has your fuel heater and water separator in it. I know it doesn't get extremely cold where you are but, gets cold enough to probably need the heater.

I've experienced zero pressure loss going through it and a 2 micron.

Cant say for the older trucks, but i asked the question to GDP and at least for the 05/06, they said there's a relay / resister/something i cant remember....so no codes....and they were correct, on my truck, never a single code.

Hmm... AD said that it did not reccomend running through it... And the AD has the water seperator... I guess I could look into leaving it in the picture...

I left my FF in place, along with the lines, just capped them off for now. I figured if I have any problems i can just connect everything back. The AD plugs into the stock plugs so no codes, the computer is now triggering the AD.

Mark,

Just pull the fuel line that runs from the tank to the stock FF, the FF and the line from the FF to the CP3. Install the delete that you're making and you'll be good to go. I removed all that stuff when I did my AD150 upgrade and everything is running great with no codes.
