Rebuild costs

Just wondering in case something happens to go wrong with my motor how much is it for a good rebuild .30 or .40 over? I'm talking complete rebuild not just the block. Thanks for any info.

Are you doing some of the work?
Who is pulling and re-installing it?

I'm not having any trouble yet just seems like I'm starting to hear some new rattles and the last time i crawled under the truck i could tell at some point that some oil had come out the blow by tube. I finally rolled over 100k on the truck last night and with all the different upgrades I've done to the truck since I've had it I wouldn't be surprised if this one is one of the cummins that doesn't make it to 200k. I have done alot of work to it myself as far as injectors, turbo, but pulling the motor I'll leave to someone who knows what they're doing. I have no idea where i'll be when it happens so there ain't no tellin who will be doing it. I was just looking for an average price.

I pulled mine myself and disassembled it. Got swamped at work, so I asked an engine shop I know how much to assemble. $1200. just for the labor.
Gaskets are close to $500.
Rings, bearings, bolts, $$ $$ $$
I would set aside 5,000 if you pull it yourself.

I would say to do it correctly, and have someone pull and reinstall, you are looking 4,000 - 6,000.
