I have not seen anymore info on the tool/plate. If there is any info posted I will pass it along.

Michael at HotRodDiesels installed mine also. Of course mine had to take a 60 mile wrecker ride to get there.

I think ill get one of these plates, I cracked the block i in my 2000 so i dont want to worry about the cooling system on this truck too. Anyone know it the thermo for the cr's is the same as for the vp truck i have an extra 180 degree thermo in the shop that i could drill and swap for the summer?

I don't think any coolant additive is going to lower pressure....and pressure is what makes it blow.....

I know it may be uncomfortable but operate the cab heater on max when you want to make a run. The heater core runs around the thermostat and thus will prevent the high deferential pressure across the thermostat. Dumping flow from the block back to the pump suction.

Also you can run a low pressure rad cap. Dropping the water pump suction pressure will drop the pump output pressure some.

Anyone ever put a pressure gage on the block to monitor water pressure?? I think you could also set up some type of regulator/relief valve to dump excess pressure from the block back to the rad. It would be nice to know what pressure is required to push the plugs out.

Now that I think about it, maybe the WW was suposed to help keep #6 from melting down so fast, I cant remember. Maybe I have no idea what I am talking about and should just keep my mouth shut too, yes, I think I will do that

BTW, good idea Andy. I would supose running the heater on any settin should help some though, shouldnt it?

Isn't the NPG waterless coolant supposed to help by not building pressure? I imagine it's expensive and tedious to convert over, but then you'd be good to go wouldn't you?
