1.Where do I get the freeze plug plates?
2.How much do they cost?
3.How hard are they to put on?

Thanks, John

its a pain to install, it is A LOT easier if you pull the tranny. there is virtually no room to go at it from the top, and the holes are blind

Seems like a nice tool to make it easier to install new plug and/or cover plate. Beats transmission R/R.

Thanks to Ramwheelsby4 I capped mine when I put in my clutch. Not a whole lot too it. BTW ramwheels, it sucks about your motor and all but at least someone (me) learned from you blowin a freeze plug.

i know cummins makes a plate to cover that hole and relocates the heater hose to the back of the motor, where the plug would be. i am going to order one on monday, i looked awhile ago and it was about $54. when i get to work monday and locate it in my parts book, i'll post it here.

Well I expected to break something sooner or later, just wish I would have started with the less expensive things . I'm glad people are learning and doing something proactive unlike me . But looks like I can take it easy and drive it as long as I want. It just kills me to not be on the track though .

That sucks! You were just trying to give me a hand with my problems, and now you're going to miss the show. I'm glad I blocked mine off when my tranny was out, because I bet it was just a matter of time untill it happened to me.
