Question Really BHAF idea???

First of all, I know many of you guys are far more technologically advanced than myself, so hopefully someone will be able to tell me if I'm way out in left field or not. A few months ago I was helping a friend do some service work on his grader (John Deere but can't remember size), we finished changing all fluids, then pulled the air filter(s). Long story short, the inner and outer filter elements were BIG as they should be it has an 11 or 12 litre displacement if memory serves me. What would the possibility of running filters of this type on a 24v 5.9cummins?? provided of course the filters met air flow and filter density spec's???? I know my terminology might not be quite right, and a hole would have to be cut in the hood to allow room for the filters and/or filter canister. Is this idea good, bad, terrible, please let me know....

I wouldn't think they would have any benefit. On my skid-steer, there is an inner and outer air filter. These things are thick and are designed to catch alot of the dust/debris that you get from driving around in dirt the majority of the time. I would bet they are designed to be much more restrictive than the OEM air filter on our trucks.

I say cut a large enough hole for your intake tube through your hood and you could run just about anything you want!! Just kindin man I would think as long as meet breathability and filtration standards it would be ok
