Rated Smarty Bata power for 555s

Does anyone know what the rated hp is for the beta files and an 03? Is it lower like the tunes off the site. 170 for 600s but 130 for 555.

I think so, but the beta 4.4 im running feels much stronger than the original 3.11. I have reason to believe the 230hp TNT tune will work on the 555!

I never did know what the betas ran for HP on the 555.

I do know that the 230hp is what they got for the 555... TNT not only works for/with it.. it was developed with it.

I'll also tell you that having a 235 SO engine, and having run all the old betas, and now the TNT, the TNT is in another league of its own!!!

I know....I freaking want it bad!!

I need head studs, injectors, and maybe even a CP3 before it gets put on though.

Would running the TNT on lower settings work with guys without springs? I had planned to run non RPM TNT tune but it looks like you need springs with it too?

It's not just about lower power... it is rpms + boost..

I'll tell ya, after some of the recent events, I just don't think it responsible to suggest people can get by with 3500 rpms on stock springs safely. Sure some can and some do (I did, but didn't try it often), but some have not... so I am not going to recommend it... but that is just me.

If I remembered correctly a '03 555 with the Beta 4.4 set to level 1 was around 100hp above stock. Think it was somebody on here on this site.

OOOOhhh, are you for real MikeyB? I'm downloading the 4.4 right now. With my mods, can I handle sw9 on 4.4, or should I go with another program? Sorry for hijacking...

Rick, the sw levels on the Betas are pretty narrow, meaning not a lot of difference between sw3 and sw9... I found my best setting to be sw7 with 4.4.

So what might SW9 give for an 03? Is it 130 or 170?

~150~ (for a 555 eng) give or take depending on the truck and the mods it has. If it is a SO eng... it will be more.

I can tell you, 4.4 sw7 feels much more powerful than the 4.11 wild sw9, its unbelievable. Smoke rolls in every gear, egts are very nice, haven't seen past 1250*. The power is so much more dramatic in the mid range, picks up quick, and spools the turbo like no tomorrow. I am very impressed with it, I wouldn't doubt the sw9 would put out close to 170 with some extra mods. These are my experiences, its so powerful I may back it down to sw5 for better drivability. I love it!!!!!!

What's the easy way to get more ponies from the red-headed step child of the third gens? Bump up the pressure right! read what Don M says about rail pressure increase and injectors.......... The 555 injectors are the first common rail injectors that we got. They have eight holes on the tips versus five of the 600-610 injectors. EZ was the first to bump the pressure and the seats and valves eroded, go figure!
