Angry Raptor problems...long

I installed the GDP big line kit and Raptor 100 last night. Install went well and I was pleased with the results. A constant 18 psi at idle and 12 psi with Smarty on SW5 hammering on it. I put about 150 miles on it yesterday without a single problem. Fast forward to this morning. I go to start the truck, get out, and am greeted by a river of diesel flowing out of the back of the fuel filter housing. So I shut the truck down and check to see that all the connections are tight, which they are. It looks like either the welded flat adapter thingy on the back of the filter housing failed or the o-ring blew apart. I haven't taken it apart yet. Is there anything else that could possibly cause it to leak? It looks like the fuel is coming from the bottom of the flat piece and not from the connection at the housing. There's only supposed to be the one o-ring on the adapter right? I pulled out the other o-ring that was in the housing when I removed the old lift pump.

Any way, I called GDP but they didn't have any more adapters. So they told me to contact Toby at Pure Flow...but I missed him for the day. I guess I'll just have to walk for the next few days until I get this sorted out. Good thing I've got the patrol car...too bad I can only use it when on duty ...

Pull off the adapter and check the o-ring. Did you lube the o-ring before installing the adapter? If not it could damaged the o-ring during the installation.

I lubed it up with a little diesel...maybe I should have used oil! I'll pull it off in the morning. If the o-ring was bad you'd think it would have leaked from the beginning. Hmmm....only my luck I guess .

Just asking, dont shoot the messanger, lol. Did you take off the sealing washer that is there from factory? If so, maybe the oring was rolled, they do try to unroll themselves, but they break. Or maybe there was a nick, & its just luck. At least its not to hard to get at or much time. Hope you find it, I have had awesome performacne and luck with my raptor.

Yes sir, I pulled that little bugger out of there. I really hope it is just a nicked o-ring. It's funny it didn't leak at all the 150 miles I drove it after install. I'm just glad it did it in front of my townhouse. Unfortunately my shop and most my tools are at my parents' place 50 miles from here. Nothing like working on your truck in a parking lot covered in diesel and freezing cold with vice grips...lol!

Update...

Pulled the fitting off. The o-ring did indeed roll and got pinched pretty good. Think my local Autozone (ahh good old "Vatozone") might have an o-ring that would work in a pinch? It's the only thing within bike range (pedal power). I feel like a dope...

So all you guys getting ready to install the Raptor, pay attention to how that o-ring goes in! I thought I did, but apparently not enough!

It happens sometimes, no matter how much attention you are paying. Go to work and just hit up an auto parts store in the patrol car on the "way home" ( you are allowed to make a stop on the way home right?)

"VatoZone"... LOL!

The best thing I have found is to lube the o-ring with silicon grease or even vasoline.

Not sure if you have a harbor frieght in your area or not, but they also carry a big "kit" of different sized O-rings for just such an occasion, I need to pick one up...

Found some (2) o-rings at "Vatozone" that would work. I love Harbor Freight. Problem is when I go in there I spend too much. Thanks again guys.
