by the way, i have stacked the bd power puppy and the Ramifier. Excellent power but the powder puff, i mean power pup drives very eratic. light acceleration seems to bog the motor down and i have had it accelerate on me when i let off the throttle slightly.
yes i believe it should. Any of the simple pressure boxes will stack with the downloader. Ramifier, Quadzilla, volumizer, predator, EZ, VA, PPE are all good choices. Ramifier and Volumizer will give a bit more punch down low because they perform enhanced low boost fueling.
The only consideration you need to be aware of, for those that are rail pressure consious, is to note that the Bullydog downloader already puts down about 30 HP due to rail pressure increases. I havent measured it, but based on my rail pressure studies this will add about 2,300 PSI of rail pressure already. Adding 50 additional horsepower in my opinion is probably a good option. I personally would heasitate going above that and given the choice I would prefer to stay at 65-70 HP total from pressure. that, according to my estimates based on measurements on the 03-04, is enough to approach the pop-off limit of the rail pressure relief valve.
Now that the Ramifer is adjustable, it should be very nice as a stack for other duration boxes or downloaders, since you can pick whatever level you want. cool.
the boxes to stay away from in this situation are any of them that perform timing. Banks, TST, for example. Don't even think about going there.
I'll answer the question that has not been raised yet: Yes you can stack the Volumizer with the downloader. The Volumizer behaves like a simple pressure box in that it does not advance timing enough to matter in this case.

I haven't tested or made any rail pressure measurements with that combo, but it strikes me as a perfectly good approach. The reason to stack with pressure is to cool off the EGTs a bit and, for the same horsepower, limit duration. But you'll have to experiment to see what gives you the best combo and balance between tolerable EGTs and oomph. With the 48RE you're pushing the limits of long term durability anyway. If I were in your shoes I would probably do that -- stick to 50HP on the pressure box, and play away with the downloader. see what it does. turn it up if you want -- the additional duration won't hurt the rail of course, but you WILL compromise your drive train and the stock turbo by cranking things up high. fun, short term accelerations though.
Actually, running the downloader on the towing setting with a 50HP box might be good combo for EGTs. its a good way to get over 50 horsepower without scary rail pressures, it gives you a timing advance, and a little duration to boot. What you suggested is good, in my opinion. watch EGTs though. that stock turbo is a real weak link. 70HP is pushing it.

Ill comment on this one - Since I have actually stacked the stage one Predator.
I have stacked , edge ez, quadzilla - 50 - 100 hp. , predator stage one with my tst.
By far , The Predator gives the BEST performance. I get more boost, and way more set you back in the seat performace with the predator. I think its because the predator only has one fueling connection. Truck also runs smoother with this combo.
So yes I think that it will work great with the power pup.
I ordered a pup & will try the tst, predator & pup - see what happens
Rail pressure - more the better
If she breaks it can be fixed - Good luck .

I noticed with my Predator stage1 that it seems to build boost very quickly off idle(much harder than stock) so it must fuel pretty hard down low, I know it is only a 50hp nox but I have been very happy with it. Now I can't wait to add some duration and timing in the mix

RadRam,
You don't have to run excessive rail pressure to achieve more power. With the adjustable Ramifier you can dial the desired hp level and increase the power but not risk hurting your fuel system supply. Since we have put the **** on the Ramifier the driveability when stacking does not have to be sacrificed and you can maintain a certain fuel pressure throughout the entire RPM range.

Gentlemen, a lot of good information here. I just picked up my 2005 2500 4X4. Is there a good place to start my research of power adders (white papre etc.) There seems to be many ways to add oomph to this truck, I just want to understand the concepts before I dive in. Thanks

i have a 2004.5 325/600 i have a dr performance 0-50-100 box on it now. if i have the dr p box on 50 can i stack it with the bully dog downloader? if so wich level can i use on the bddl ?
thanks

thanks

I have my BDDL on the 90HP program along with my 50HP pressure box and it is very nice, The downloader without the pressure box feels really flat to me. It seems that my mileage is higher with the pressure also.
