TST and BDDL
Hello all.
I need some help. Can any of you tell me if you can run a BDDL and TST together and on what settings? I have a 2005 Dodge 2500 Diesel, AT, and wanted to ensure these systems were compatible. I have set the Bully Dog on 90 HP and TST on 4x4; however, it had extreme power on bottom end, but it had a lot of rattle on top end. Just want to make sure no possible damage to injectors or overadvance timing was taking place. I also have the Crazy Larry Program.
Any and all help would be very much appreciated.

I use the 90hp setting as well at the track. The extra timing advance and little bit of pressure from the BDDL can make good gains with the TST if you get it dialed in correctly. You will have to back off on the TST a good bit to find max power. That combo will drop rail pressure beyond power making pressures in a hurry.
There is a little more timing rattle with the 90hp & TST, but I don't think it is enough to hurt anything. It is not like I have put thousands of miles on this combo to test that theory though . TST advances timing 12 degrees beyond stock and the BDDL on 90hp doesn't do enough timing advance to even cool itself properly, so it shouldn't hurt anything. The 130hp extreme program is much different. Way too much timing advance to run with the TST safely in my opinion. Some people do it though. My truck runs like crap with the 130hp loaded and the TST turned on no matter what settings I use. Can't make any decent power and it doesn't sound good.

King D,
Can you tell me where I can get a power play?
All,
I appreciate all of you diesel brothers for responding to my previous email. Look forward to seeing you at the Scheid Diesel Extravaganza. I will be in the big yellow RAMble Bee.
If anyone has further information, comments, or suggestions please send them my way.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again, the Crazy Larry and TST is the ultimate stack. I run the TST Twins program on 7/7 with the Crazy Larry, and an EZ on level 2, just to keep the rail pressure up at WOT. I've got about 10k miles on this setup, and love it. I don't ever see EGT's over 1450 even when sledpulling in 2nd HI.....
Just to clear up any questions, when I refer to the running the "Crazy Larry" I'm referring to the highest setting on the downloader, anything else is just like the regular BDDL...
Whitesport600,
Not trying to call you out...but I have a hard time believing the above statement.
How many ponies do you think your truck is putting to the ground? Limiting dynos to 1450 EGT, my truck will put down 550 hp on levels 6-4 TST and a little pressure from a special Ramifier program. The stack/settings you have just described equates to almost twice the amount of fuel getting to the engine as my setup. Our big singles are very close in design (mine might even flow alittle more than yours). I can't believe that the compounded timing effects of the two could possibly cool that much...unless it is just injecting so much unburnt fuel that it "putting out the fire".
I would try the set up...but I think it is two much timing.

I don’t know man….the TST twins version will almost drain your rail by itself on anything above 5/5. I would bet money (yeah, like if I had any
) that if you get that thing on a dyno and start off very conservative, you will see that max power can be found with any two of those boxes....and probably set a lot lower than your thinking. Just rambling…..

ATS's mustang dyno...many runs.
The correction facotr differs a little every time. Clint's truck get's dynoed the most at other shows and he tends to be within +-5 hp all the time. So I feel they have it fairly dialed in now.
I had my EGT limiter set at 1450. 6-4 twins program and the special Ramifier at max (their stack box...kinda detuned version of the normal Ramifier). Those setting repeated 550/1050 many times. If I went up with the 7-4 or 8-4 or 6-5 or 7-5 or used any more pressure (upper settings on a full tilt Ramifier) I would hit my EGT ceiling...so I did not care. I most likely could have put more power down, but a higher temp that I really don't want to see. I am looking for usable horsepower...not a dyno queen. Anyways...
The Aurora 5000 will get into the low 50's high 40's depending on the ervironment.
