Race ?

I have a friend who just got his first diesel, an lbz 4door duramax. Now it turns out he is out to be faster and stronger than my truck. He just bought a ppe hot and is getting his intake and exhaust. My question is do yall think his truck turned up with ppe can take me? I would say no he cant right off hand but my poor tranny is not in the best shape. It holds well enough to burn my 33's down though. so let me know what ya think

Btw: its funny cause he is talking my truck down and all but im his mechanic for whatever he plans on doing to his. so he better not beat me to bad lol

The Dura's can be quick... They seem to have the ablilty to make less hp on a dyno, but still make equal or better times in the 1/4 mile. V8's wind up fast.

Yeah, d-max's are fast... A dude with a different compressor wheel, a EFI live custom tune, and the seats took out ran a 12.3. Truck might have had a fuel pump and a CAI, but that was it.

Im guessing he has a 3/4 ton? I honestly don't think your going to beat him if he runs the PPE turned up. Those dirtys are light, they rev high and they are super responsive.

Good luck though.

If the D wins, challenge him to a race with both of you hooked up to about an 8k+lbs trailer, you will wipe the smile off his face.

Those dmax's are fast with the PPE turned up. He will have super high EGT's with the PPE also. But those motors spin high rpm and in a drag race, thats what you want and he is lighter also. Run it and see what happens.

Yea it's a tough pill to swallow but it's just the way it is. Only one thing can fix your broken heart, money. Empty out your wallet and pour it in your truck.

WHOA, Hold on a minute, Then let's make it a 15/16k load, and over 1/2 the state of Montana. That D-max will melt!!!! PPE on hot, give me a break.
