Quite rim and tire question.
Quick rim and tire question.
A buddy of mine has a set of 35x12.50x18 nitto mud grapplers and is about to get a set of rims. These are goin on a ford if it makes a differance, but he wants 10" rims but most of the ones he likes are 9". The question is, does it really matter? He wants the tire as flat as possible but could you tell a differnace if you had the same tire on an 18x9 beside an 18x10?
Thanks for any advice.
Thanks for any advice.
Runnnig a 10 inch wide tire would let him air up the tires a little more. Im running 35x12.50 on a 9 inch wide wheel and it works fine for me, no crowning at all. Just tell him to run a few psi less in each tire then they should ride flat on the road.
I'm running 18x9's on 325's and I have no crowning at all either. Like OldSmokey said, just run a few psi less and he'll be fine. Personally I like the look of the 10" wheels more, but you also run into rubbing problems, etc. The tires/wheels also stick out of the fenders more and really punish the truck.
