i have the quadzilla guage thing. and it has been working good for a few months, but recently, the water temp has been jumping around. it runs at about 189* but its been just jumping to 233* randomly. and the stock temp guage is still int he same spot, so im pretty sure my truck isnt running hot. any idea how to fix this.

 

The most likely cause and easiest to fix is the connection. If it's worked until now the connection may have just come loose. If I remember correctly, the fiber washer needs to be in the right position for the sensor readout to work properly.

I had a similar problem with my water temperature read out recently. I resecured the electrical connection and it solved the problem.

I had a similar problem a couple of weeks ago. I changed oil about that time and the water temp was all over the place the next day. I guess while changing the oil I hit the connection at the temp sender and was getting a intermittant reading. I fixed the connection and all is well again.
