Quadzilla camander????
Quadzilla camander????
Hi guys I have a camander with a x2 race box I got a smarty recently so I don't use the x2 at all just the camander for gauges.isvthere away to use the camander without the x2?.I tried to run the truck without it but it didn't run well and caused a code and engine light.I ultimately want to sell the x2 but I want to keep the camander.anyone know if this can be done.
I've been using the Quad Commander for several years with my Smarty without an issue.
I don't know anything about stacking, but have you tried returning everything to stock and then reloading just the Smarty? Just a thought.
Good luck.

So, is the key, setting the Quadzilla back to stock, then connecting the Smarty and downloading the software to the truck? How do you switch the Smarty between settings? Sorry for the ignorance, I have no experience with the Smarty.
Yes.
Set the Quad back to stock, remove the race box, and then load the Smarty.
You can adjust the Smarty POD on the fly (if you're using it), but you can only load one Smarty program at a time. You have to have the truck parked to install and adjust the Smarty - between programs or even to different settings.
After you have the Smarty installed the Commander should work as it normally as a set of gauges.
Hope that helps.

I contacted Quadzilla. And they told me to run the camander without the x2 installed I need a bypass plug.the truck won't run without the x2 or the plug.no need to reload or change the program in the x2.
Sorry about the return to stock comment. I guess I assumed it was like the Smarty and had to be returned to stock or the way it was before the box was installed.
Interesting comment from Quad. I have used just the commander, wired in accordance with their instructions, and there was no "bypass" needed or mentioned, unless it was already in the system setup when I bought it.
Have you checked to see if there is a difference in wiring the commander as stand alone guages vs. with the box? Just a thought.
Hopefully the bypass isn't too expensive. Good luck!

the plug is cheap, its 3 buks,im sure if i was in the usa they would ship it in a envelope for free,im not sure about the wiring with and without the x2,i do remeber having to get some diferent wiring harness stuff when i got the x2 updated and the camder updated to read fuel pres, there was some small adapters and such,i think quad offered them free for a few months while people were updating from the non usb updateable boxes,i just want to prob sell the x2,since i got the smarty i havent used it at all,the smarty does all the presure and timing i want,it worked well on a presure only tune when i had the diablopredator tuner, they worked well together,
