Quad Race + Commander
Quad Race + Commander
So I have a Quad race box that I had on my early 06 quad cab. I ordered the Commander about 3 weeks ago and got it all put on my new 07, basically the same truck just a Mega cab. I get everything all hooked up and it seems to be working, just not near as well as it did on my 06. Look at boost and it is hitting 30 - 32. OK, not as much as expecting, but ok. I also am noticing pretty high temps. I cannot even make a WOT run on level one without hitting the limit I have set which is 1400. Now I noticed this morning on the way to work all I can get it to do is spike maybe 17 psi. That is it even on level 3. Am I missing something here, or what? This thing ran great on my 06 with analog guages. could hit 40 on boost and yes EGT's were high but not this bad. Do I have a wire crossed or what? Any help would be appreciated guys.
Apparently late '06 and '07 5.9 trucks have different ECM programming or something than the earlier '06 trucks. This has caused complete melt-down when using a particular power adder. It's just speculation, but your issues may be related.
The Commander to my knowledge controls the Race box and that is the only level that you can set. I know you can change what modules you can control, but to my knowledge that is the only thing you can control the levels on.
I think something is messed up in the install. I have an 07 MegaCab and on level 1 I can barely get over 1200 on my EGT. I do have a intake and removed the muffler but don't think there is THAT much of a difference.

I disconnected the Race module and put in the bypass and now I am only getting 12 PSI of boost and it is very, very sluggish. It is like something is holding it back and it is not getting enough air. Also before I took the race module off on level 3 I was making alot of smoke, more than my 06 ever did. Is this thing holding my wastegate open or something? I have a AFE ProGuard7 Super Stock filter and I have the muffler delete kit from Geno's Garage, but I still have the cat and resonator. I know it can get hot on level 3 but even on level 2 I am at or over 1400 before I get to 6th gear and it starts to defuel. I know I am not getting enough airflow for some reason but I can't figure out why. It seems like the wastegate is stuck open because I can hear the turbo whine pretty clear. I still have the silencer ring installed and all of the guts in the stock intake also, just haven't gotten around to taking that stuff out yet.
Quad, I checked everything and it is set up right. 04.5 - 07 truck and the std/race module.
Thanks guys, not sure what is going on but I don't want to burn this thing up it only has 15000 miles on it so far.

I've got a friend with an 07 3500 on stock his would hit 1300 empty just truck. He melted #4 and 6 pistons about a month ago with just a 100hp ts. Another friend that worked for dodge told me that the 07's were a hotter truck from factory.

Bingo, that is the info I needed.
99% positive it has a faulty relief valve. I can almost guarantee it. Get it swapped out and you will be in business!
Thanks alot. I will get it changed out and see what happens. This is why I bought a Quadzilla product. Its all about the Customer Service, I don't care what you are doing. I guess some people just don't get it.
Thanks again Quad, I really appreciate it.
