quad problems??

OK, I want to buy the little quadzilla 65 horse box in the classifieds section. I figured that would be a great cheap little starter box since I don't have the money to go all out like I want to right now. That blasted college is always putting a damper on my hp fun . But what can you do? Now to my real point. I have a fool of a friend who managed to get me a little worried by telling me a story about a kid he knows through his G/F who had a hundred horse quad box and managed to melt his number 1 cylinder while pulling a horse trailer or something. Doubt he had guages or even knew how to drive in the first place, but it still got me worried cause I don't have the money to replace the motor either. My question is what could I expect to see out of the box as far as EGT's ect., and has anyone seen quad being more likely to do such a thing compared to the rest of the field.
sorry this was a long one but thanks for your help.

CHECK that just saw the 50/100 hp box on there what do yall think?

I just got back from a trip to florida about 1200 miles each way. I have the Quad race box and set on the low setting temps ranged anywhere from 800-1000 deg. pre-turbo. That is driving at speeds of 60 to 75 mph. Now let me say that if i really got on it on take off i could see temps of 1300 and then i would let off. Trailer weighs about 8000 lbs. Also had wife and four kids. No problems with using cruise control either. This box has worked great for me and would recommend their products. Use die-electric greese on the connections if you purchase it.

Thanks guys I guess I might as well go for it. I know better than to run the egt's way up so no matter what I can always shut her down. Besides its just money anyway isn't it?

Yes it is definitely the easiest to spot and hear. the local cops don't exactly like it when I run my piaas in the city limits though so its not quite as noticable at night anymore. So where are you at in the Great State of Texas CrobTex?
