Quad EMI

Hey Quad,

Would shielding the XZT harness from EMI (cross talk) be beneficial?

Anyone else tried this?

Opinions?

Only if there's a problem from crosstalk, like with a Ham or CB radio.

my quad would set a light and lose power when i originally had it mounted to the brake control module under the dash. i moved it as high up the dash that i could and no longer have had any problems.

That's what I'm talking about; I'm wiring the rest of the bombs and would rather get the Quad harness installed trouble-free the first time, with the box located where it won't have any issues.

Mike,
If you feel like you need it do it. Also make sure to ground the shielding.

Thanks Mike - would something low budget like grounded tin foil wrap inside the plastic flex conduit be fine? I really don't want to put the harness inside flex armor conduit! I have some SS and some Cu braided sleeve in the shop, but probably nothing long enough... besides, that stuff is $$$

i just mounted my quad to the panel above your knees, just as high as i could get it, on the right side of the panel is a flat spot about the size of the quad when laid on its side, i just doubleback taped it there, and I can see the led when driving. never an issue after that.

Yep, just wrap the wiring with foil and then add the flexible wire loom.
