Pyro probe question
Pyro probe question
I went into my truck the other night to get some stuff out of it, and the EGT was showing 130-this is after the truck has been sitting for a few days and it was between 30-40 degrees out, so it was cold. So my question is, can the probe be cleaned/cal'd to read more accurately, or do I have to buy another one? This is for the Juice w/Attitude.
I might be suspect of the reading..... Normally a pyro will read close to the OAT if it has been sitting for awhile. Has the truck read accuratley previously? If it has I would replace the probe and see if that makes a difference.
I got the Edge used and it has always read a little high. I let it cool down before I shut it off, but I have read about others that get their egts into the 300s before shutting off, and I am lucky to be in the low 400s after a few minutes. The thermocouples we use at work are accurate from 20-850c, the only difference being that they are external to the point being measured, so they do not get contaminated. I was just wondering if maybe the thing is coked up enough to set off the temps being read a little.
