i just put in my pyro gauge and it is pinned at 1600! whats with that?

 

Usually if that happens the two wire on the leadwire are crossed or touching. I would look for a short where the leadwire connect to the thermocouple.

You might also want to check and make sure that they are connected to the back of the gauge properly. You may have them backwards.
