Ok I was thinking about going to the local fairs next summer and getting into a couple truck pulls with my 2004.5. My truck is a 3500 600CTD with the 48re. The thing I have concerns about is will the tranny and associated parts hold up to this abuse? I just want to do maybe one or two. I am thinking about putting a box on it before I do this and all ready have a straight pipe. SO do you think I will be able to do this without any real problem coming up?

Keep it stock and the tranny would be under warranty - or get the Bully Dog programmer that is easily removed without a trace.... Looks like 450hp seems to be the poing where problems happen with the 48re's - just from reading in this site - mine is stock and in the shop.... I sure miss it.
