pulled tonight!!
Well with the 2005 Dodge with the juice on level 5/5 in 3rd low I pulled 259 feet even. The thing is my clutch is fine didn't smell any burning nothing, still acts the same on the road with the same amount of slippage on the attitude monitor. So in 3rd low in 5/5 I report no slippage so my clutch is either really good clutch or some of the guys that pull just don't know how to drive. I just reved it up to about 2000 and slipped the clutch until I get it going.
On another subject a 2005 Ford beat everybody and it was completly stock and automatic. When we weighed in he had about 1300 pounds on everybody and had some weights in the back of his truck. I think he pulled 276 and 2nd place which was my brother with his 2001 pulled 274. So what gave the Ford the extra momentum to make it pull 276 and a first place finish.

Thats, totally hard to believe. I know of some stock 6.0's that could barely get the sled moving with an auto. Your distance makes me feel good, because i basically have the same truck as you and I'm getting juiced also. How much did you spin and did you hold it at the govenor the whole time? If you looked how were egt's? I have to beat some p-strokes in august at our local pull. So 3rd low is the best gear? Were you still on stock tires. I picked up some bfg at 315's hoping for better traction. Sorry about all the questions. Any video?

Well to answer some of your questions 1st its an auto, What is there to drive?? I didn't spin to much until I get to the end of the track which then they broke loose and I was dead on the water. I did not look at the egt's but my warning is set at 1350 and did not hear it go off. 3rd gear is the best gear if you don't want to beat up your clutch and when you come off the line keep it below 2000 until you get the sled moving the dump it and to the floor. As for the Rpm's I kept it right at redline as this was my first pull and I also had stock tires. I think my next pull I am going to go 4th low and I expect to burn up my clutch then. My brother with his 01 5spd pulled 3rd low equal to my 4th low and did pretty good but also burned his clutch pretty good. As for the tires I had the stock 265 70 rugged trails on there. The pull was also at the warren county fair. I had a very good time and plan on doing more pulls. I think the sled weighs somewhere in the 40000 pounds. I also have videos just do not know how to post them.
man i missed em i'm thinking of pulling at the saint peters mo fair the last of this month. i just got my truck back today with the stage v tranny done. That thing rips the gears now shifts are very firm.
Well i was at the laclede county fair lastnight and watch a few diesels do there thing. The dodges didnt do to bad considering they all went home on there own power. Now i seen two fords 7.3l bust drive shafts. One thing they didnt have were any 6.0's.
Thank you and I think I will be pulling that the saint peters picnic too. The thing is we had two 6.0's out there one was my buddy but he had a broken front end so he just pulled in 2wd and made it 231 feet. I thought that was rather good for only 2wd but he also has the bully dog power pup. When is the saint peters pull I don't know for sure but I do know all the show-me-smokers will be there so I don't think I will have a chance at winning. What kind of truck do you have kevins600?
Nope, can't do it that way. Videos are VERY large compared to pictures and this site imposes a limit on files you can up load. The best best is to find someone (ie another member) who will host the video for you, or find a free public hosting site.
