Prospects with a 48RE and the Trans Wars...
Jim:
You are very welcome!
I meant what I said about driving the trucks! I will send you
a P.M. with my numbers so you can call if you get out here.
We have been to Kill Devil Hills and it is amazing to look at
that location where the Wright Brothers made that very first
flight! The museum is also very interesting. And the old
"battlewagon" USS N.C. is only about 20 miles from where
I live. Been there several times.
I know if you drive the trucks you will be sold on the ATS
trannies! If you are ever close to Denver give Clint Cannon
a call, and I know he would set you up to drive one of theirs
too! He has a 03' Dodge CTD CR also that I am sure also
has the complete ATS Stage IV or V in it. His phone number
is: 1-800-949-6002.
Take care Jim!

I want to chime in and thank you all for all the good info. in this thread.
I feel that I am much more informed now on what all these tranny mods actually do and how they accomplish it.
Thanks again

I don't know, CNS. Hopefully we'll get input from some guys with Suncoast trannies...
Again, many thanks to all who have replied and kept this discussion on a high level. I was worried about starting the thread for obvious reasons, but you guys have risen to the occasion nicely!

There are several others, with Suncoast probably being number 4 on the list of the big 3. What I found when doing my research was that loyalty to the other brands is spotty, resulting in low numbers in the field to gather data from. I looked at Suncoast and they were on my original list. They offer some decent information on their web site. I just couldn't find enough folks using it to gather good data to base a decision off of, so I removed them from my list. You will definitely find the DTT and ATS to be the most popular, if for no other reason than there are big numbers in use so plenty of practical testing going on and word of mouth advertising. That doesn’t mean the others are not up to par.
I've been coming to similar conclusions, AK - while the choice of ATS or DTT looks like it will do the job, I imagine it's tough for a guy with a good idea to get into a market like this. Once you have "standard" solutions out there established and well respected by the user communities, getting enough of a user base for a new product to take off has got to be tough...
Thanks for your take!

Case in point DPG...look at this http://www.turbodieselregister.com/f...threadid=72098
AK RAM:
Good point!! The funny thing about that "warning" over
there is that it has not completely stopped all the
"arguing" etc.!!! In some ways, that is why I don't
post over there much anymore.
