97on22s,

Right now it's pretty easy you have two choices the Superchips Flashpaq or the Bully Dog Triple Dog. The Superchips is a little milder and from what you mentioned would fit your needs, you will need gauges with either if you plan to run the higher HP programs though. Consider the Isspro or the new Dipricol's and or Auto Meter.

I prefer the bully dog over the superchips myself. I've only fooled with them about 100 times or so though.

My personal experience with the Bully Dog is all positive. Seamless install, excellent customer support, and POWER....POWER....POWER...!!!!!!
And slightly better mileage in TOW mode (25% power increase on the 1st step up of 4)
I can't badmouth any of the other brands, cause I've heard a lot of good things about them, i.e. Edge Juice...etc.
Cheers
Bekim

Why not just go with the juice\attitude, it give you performance and gauges built into one. Plus it has safety features built in.

I think you have more than just two choices out there.

I would look into the Edge Juice/Attitude as mentioned. If you go a different route and are looking for gauges, I would also take a look at Stewart Warner. I love mine and they look really sharp

is there any system less expensive thant he edge/attitude with built in guage deal or no? 800 bucks is just a lot it seems. but im sure its well worth it

what do i watch for on the guages??

you can find them for 650 on ebay, and cheaper than that if you search the classifieds on this site.

Post Highly Advise You Not To Use Edgr Products!!!

I personally know two people who burned their brand new cummins up using the edge product. I also spoke with a mechanic at my dealership about two trucks he had in the shop that were waiting on new engines cause the owners had burned up the original motors. I'm sure driving conditions played a big part in what happened, but this is still something to look into if anyone thought about going with edge for the dodge.
I would go with Bully dog for the dodge since dodge is their specialty.

Maybe someone else with better info can chime in and verify this.. But I have been looking into the Boxes VS Downloaders.. (I also have an 05 and understand it is an entirely different computer).

What I have read here is steering me to box rather than a downloader.

the thing that scares me most about the Downloaders is they can not read or save the program that is currently in the truck.. They can only reprogram the truck. So if you want to go back to stock you may not get the same program that was in the truck. you get whatever Stock program the DL company put into the DL. There were several posts here about the BD downloader reprograming the truck to a non USA program. I also understand that BD stood behind this and reprogramed the DL with a more current program, but was it the same as the truck cam with or that a dealer might have upgraded the truck to?.

I know the warranty issue.. You Play you Pay. But Also DC is looking to do anything to void a warranty so I would want to be able to completly remove a modification if damage was unrelated to the box just to make sure.

Seems to me the Boxes are eaiser to remove and harder fo DC to detect if say my Radio or ball joints go out.

Warranty is the main reason why I have not modified the engine yet.. but the bug is sure nipping at me...

warranty

If they try to void your warranty over a programmer or box, because something unrelated broke,it would be grounds for a law suit. They don't want that either. They know if the data in the log shows higher than normal boost, temps, fueling, etc. then you probly had a box on it.Don't think that just because they are removable, they are untracable.Even when they "lie" to the computer, most mechanics will be able to tell what was up.They aren't all as stupid as we think. If you fry a motor, they will get very involved in trying to find your power enhancer.More than just simply looking to see if you removed it from the engine compartment.Stick to good products,at safe levels, and drive it with some sense. You will be fine.I have ran my superchip on the performance setting for over 3000 miles now without so much as a whisper of trouble.Edge and BD are both also very reputable companies.Just pick the one you like the best and use it wisely.

If you'd rather a box than a programmer then Quadzilla is the way to go hands down!

Excellent customer service and support and a high quality product line!

As for guages , I've seen CASMOKINS Stewart Warner guages and bought a set for myself.
