which programmer to buy ? i have a good idea but.........

hi everyone im trying to decide on which tuner. im thinking on either h&s or smarty ? my priority's are mpg the ability to do the egr delete unlocking the dvd player would be nice. also the bump in hp would be nice during winter and pullinbg my race car to the track most of the time the tune would propbaly be in the stock range . i like the h&s line but with all the differnt tuners they have i cant choose. i mean a grand for a tuner is serious cash .

As much as I'd love to say Smarty, it just appears that they don't have it together yet and wont give an ETA. I'm going H&S/dpf delete(leaving egr in place), but I just cant tell the differences between the Mini and the Black Maxxes. Maybe someone can explain. I know the Black Maxx is larger and color...
For mileage, you need to be more concerned about the dpf delete, not the egr delete.

Its not that much cheaper, but a bit. Sometimes good things are worthwhile, and priced right!

I thought it was the other way around? Smarty Jr. ~$500, XRT pro ~$650

I'm in the same boat. Read that the Smarty requires bungs so the sensors can stay in place. Bungs would help close the price gap between the two.

Smarty does not require any sensors to stay in place. Neither of them do.

I read that about the Smarty here:

http://www.thedpfdeleteshop.com/mads...ns-p-5558.html

(in green font almost to the bottom of the page: "Requires sensors to be placed back into the exhaust system" )

Is it incorrect information or I am misunderstanding the bung thing? I just need to know to help me with my purchase decision.

Nawww thats a misprint. Running the S software you leave the exhaust components in place, all of em. Running the ME software you dont have to put anything back in the exhaust. Everything can be unplugged, wiring harnesses taped up and secured out of the way.

I like my black maxx. Easy to see and use. I would delete the egr/cooler while your at it. For another $140 you can have all your problems taken care of.
