DUDE- theres alot of good info in this thread even though there is some rif raf

As far as gauges you can get them embedded in a programmer like edge juice with attitude, bully dog PMT, banks pda, quad adrenalin.....or you can go with analog gauges like ISSPRO and or Dipricol Optix, I run dipricol boost and fuel pressure with my PMT............as far as gauge mount which ever one you can get for the cheapest is the best ....IMO

There are other gauges out there but these two companies match our stock gauge look pretty well if not dead on. I think the DTR store sell everything your looking for.

When it comes to your injectors they along with your stock cp3 will support close to 600hp....once you start upgrading injectors and get to about the
90hp power range with your 07 truck then i would start to consider an upgraded cp3 but until then dont worry about it. OSIRIS made 623hp with stock cp3.... the 05-07 trucks have a better fuel set up then the previous years did in order to support the power better.....i would recommend getting a fuel system like airdog, fass, eliminator, raptor or walbro.....the nice thing about fass and air dog is they come with lifetime warranties and have a water seperation system on them along with 2 micron filtration which helps save injectors by getting them cleaner fuel. IMHO

Good luck man

I love my Isspros, and got the 3 gauge (a) pillar pod. Here's a good place to get a whole gauge setup with install kits, parts, and special items.

www.dieselmanor.com

On injectors, I wouldn't worry about that until you cover your bases, you want a good fuel system to supply ample fuel at all times before you want to consider injectors. You also want to consider programming first as it will have an effect on how much power you are searching for.

Sorry for asking so many questions!!!

No problem man. When we say fuel system we mean lift pump with some sort of extra filtration, something along the lines of Airdog 100/150/165 adj, Fass 90/150, GDP kit, and few others. The extra filtration is important along with some sort of water separation. Getting a fuel pressure gauge will help you see where your pump is.

There's lots to learn when you're just getting into the diesel thing.
If I were you I'd look at gauges, a Cold Air Intake (CAI) and doing something to the exhaust like changing the muffler to a free flowing one like my 40" Nelson. Do NOT get sucked into wasting a lotta money on a complete new 5" exhaust, you don't need that till you get up into the 700HP range. For gauges I prefer analog cuz you can tell at a glance what's going on, you don't have to 'read' them.

Then get whatever programer you choose, Bully Dog or Smarty are the top 2, the order depends on who you talk to!

When you get the programmer that's when you'll be wanting to watch your fuel pressure, the more you mod the lower it will go eventually you'll see zero PSI, that's when you can start thinkin bout a new lift pump. That'll also be about the time you start beefing up your auto or replacing your clutch.

Look at people's profiles on here to see their gallery, that'll give you a good idea about gauges, etc. This is a great place to learn, I signed up 2 years before I even owned a diesel so when I finally bought one I had an idea what was going on, that's also the reason I bought a stick.

340 to 576? ... with just CL or was there other mods too? (Musta been, no way you had 340 stock did you?)

<EDIT>
Sorry for the hijack, started a new dyno thread:
https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...56#post2540156

Because a dyno with no load is just like getting in your truck and driving it down the street. You arent loading your truck on the street are you? Just get in and drive its not like you are hitting the brakes trying to get your boost up and stuff like that you are just running it for what it is I am not really sure of the difference between the two for that you would want to contact richard or erik brown and ask them.....

In my opinion the best thing that I have bought is my Air dog....I have ample fuel delivery and the protection of "clean" fuel....I dont know how many guys around me have blown an engine because of an injector problem an 99% it comes back to bad fuel. just my .02

The stock injectors SUCK and are notorious for going bad because of fuel contamination amoung other things.

Gauges are also a very smart idea....My truck stock can get pretty hot and its nice to know just how hot your getting at the very least.

I dont think you'll have to worry about a cp3 for awhile......this is where your "lift pump" feeds to. It can support some good power as long as you dont have big injectors and are not stacking a pressure box (i.e. mp8, edge ez, quad x2) When people talk about "draining the rail" the are refering to the cp3 not being able top keep up with the demand of fuel the "rail wants/needs" this is when you will find guys getting bigger cp3's or modded ones. In oreder to maintain a certain amount of pressure across the rail

I you have any questions don't hesitate to keep them coming.

P.S. RIP you post at some crazy hours man......do you ever sleep? lol

Yea, I know, I'm in bed late and up early. This morning had to be up real early for a job (I do residential mowing, landscaping, and general outdoor maintenance for cemeteries, residents, and some businesses. If they want me there before sun up, I'm there, can't afford to lose the money....

And I think I'm addicted to DTR....

So i have the Quad x2 Race with all the gauges sitting around the house waiting to be put on should i do this and take the smarty off or just down load the pressure only tune and run them both, on low of course as to not destroy the tranny, or sell it and lookd for the PMT or other bully dog triple dog
i used a BDTD from Stainless for a weekend it was nice but it threw a code and spooked me the smarty jr is nice but i dont really like the new POD it seems like it had more power before that upgrade any thoughts?
thanks for all this i really like to read up and see what everyone is using and likes

Ok, with my latest mods...ran the truck on the dyno today.....

366hp.
679# tq.

with these mods.......
intake
5" exhaust...I know it's not needed, but came on the truck lol
grid heater delete
intake horn
50hp DDP nozzles
HTTurbo 62/13/65ss
Quad boost fooler

Wasn't cheap mods for the power gain, but will support future mods and make them all really efficient when I start adding more. Pulls really well, 37k# no problem....even before the mods wasn't too bad, but now just more fun!!!

If you use smarty or BD download the pressure only for the quad. I will send you a tune that will run good on your truck if you get a BD PMT or Triple dog......Stainless has an older truck and BD doesnt run that well on the older ones plus I guarantee he didn't have the tune im gonna send (use at own risk....epecially with stock tranny)

Sounds about right 'OSIRIS" did 340 with garrett stage 3 turbo, 50 stixs, intake manifold, exhaust and intake. then he turned on the PMT and got 574 or something then with the meth it was 623hp

It's sweet you are "part" owner of a diesel shop....keep up the good work. I was refering to your sig cause it says you have an 04 but its cool im glad you know what your talking about i guess ....thanks for settin the record straight. I appreciate your help with this

I wish you would help spread your knowledge to the thread starter since you own a diesel shop he could prolly learn alot from you as well as the rest of us, let him know why he should get smarty above all others on his truck and answer some other performance questions he has asked in this thread......you should be the one that could help this guy the most sounds like you have a good background. I'm sure he would appreciate it. Thanks bud
