That was my first and only time on the dyno, I went in hoping to get over 400 so was very happy with the 443. Talking to the more experience dyno guys that came up form the US, they told my the mustang dyno at B&D has a history of being frugal, but still my results were about 60hp less. Maybe it was lacking fuel, maybe the clutch was slipping slightly? Don't know, but I'm looking forward to the next dyno days in October, wanna see if adding the X2 will get me over 500.

I guess what I'm saying is we should all take these dyno numbers with a grain of salt, just like some people's mileage claims (but that's another story)

Wyo and Rip, both of you have helped me out in the past, don't get too worked up over the Smarty vs BD thing, it's not worth it...

Although I've never tried a Smarty (nor do I have oplans to) my BDTD has worked well for me, never thrown a code or caused me any grief and the dyno proved it's working well. I wish Buddy was still around though...
If you had a fuel system and a clutch i know you would be over 500 with just the BD and then when you throw the X2 in the mix it should be more but watch your temps

See, that's what I'm talkin bout, there was a stock 06 there the day I did mine, he mighta had a CAI, he got only 268 on the dyno, I think your dyno is a little overly generous compared to the one I was on.

I have my dyno chart in front of me for my 06. Stock, it made 305.4hp and 592.5 ft. lbs. torque

Putting it on a dyno today to see what my current mods have done. Will post later this afternoon.

I've had and edge, and a fuel system and had done everything right, even a new tranny on an 01 and it really did not perform or have the power as later on I swapped it out for a BD torque dog, only 75hp....that made a bigger dif. than the edge juice.

lol
So a stock 06 is somewhere between 268 and 305 hp depending on the dyno...

I would also think that different trucks would dyno different numbers on th esame dyno I have seen this numerous times with STOCK trucks and trucks that have CAI and exhaust as there only mods same with just having aftermarket clutch becasue your able to get more power to the ground.

Even if the difference is 265hp stock compared to 285hp stock thats 20hp that can be the difference in dyno or also difference in exhaust/intake combo....who knows all I know is that when the 07 went on the rollers without crazy larry it did 285 and when it ran on crazy larry with exhaust, intake and fuel system it was an increase to 510hp which means that with those mods another 225hp was added to the truck, smarty claims 230hp with tnt and "supporting mods" so I dont find this info or the dyno hard to believe. I have also seen bone stock trucks on different dynos do almost 300hp at the end of the day it is the difference between your "stock" or non programmed numbers and your programmed numbers or in other words how much horsepower does your programmer add to the bottom line when on a dyno....in my opinion the "stock" number doesnt make that big of a difference to me especially if there is a 10-30hp difference in trucks its what was added in "overall" picture that matters to me I guess.......That and everyday drivability like RIP said.

Let us know your numbers tonight man it should be interesting to see what your mods add.

Wasnt your dyno a mustang dyno as well? I have heard from several reputable people that a dynojet 248 c i believe is the most accurate since you just hit the rollers and dont add load to it.... That could be why your numbers are so much lower than the ones wyo has... personally on my truck i went from 340 to 576 HP with CL PMT on my 06...

Yah, it was a Mustang. I wish I knew the differences between the different types of dynos, how they work etc. How can a dyno figure HP if there's no load and how can a HP rating with no load be a meaningfull HP number that means anything to anyone? (Maybe I should start a dyno thread)

340 to 576? ... with just CL or was there other mods too? (Musta been, no way you had 340 stock did you?)

<EDIT>
Sorry for the hijack, started a new dyno thread:

He wasnt 340 stock and it was done on same dyno as the other trucks i was speaking of.340 WITHOUT programming. he has a garret turbo, raptor, 50-stixs, cai and intake horn. which makes his "340hp" stock rating and then throw crazy larry in mix and you get another 230+hp throw meth in there and you gain more when he turned the meth on he went from 576 to 623hp.

FISHERGUY- you need to dyno again with your mods you will be impressed with the new nemuber now that you have a fuel system and stuff. I was amazed at how much a CAI, exhaust and fuel system help a truck especially with programing

I wouldn't worry about it for one run....these guys running smarty crank up the rail pressure for dyno runs and track runs and there doing fine.......its just not a good idea to run around all day with the pressure cranked
