Programmable ECU ??

I was searching for a programmable ECU for my wife's turbo Neon when I stumbled across this one . I am working on one for her car, so I don't have time to research it for our trucks. It looks like it will work with HPCR Diesel. They also have a link for custom applications here. For those of you looking for a way around our factory ECU, it would be the ultimate fueling module.

It might not be as bad as you think. Edelbrock uses the Mototron ECU for their custom MPI systems. Most of the programmable ECU's I've looked at are in the $1200-$2000 range. Mototron is the only one I've seen so far that claims to work with the common rail diesels. If I get some time this week, I'll try to give them a call. It might not be easy for first time setup, but I would think it would be a lot easier than trying to fool the factory ECU with a custom fueling module.

nice to be ab le to take that unit and rewrite the flash for the rest of us with a stock module. take a programmer and dump in the new proggy and then pass it along to a few paying customers, sure enough folks would like the service, heck ya could even copy the new prog to disc and then send it to folks that know someone with a programmer to use the new one..... good way to share the cost and the wealth

Is this a stand alone system something that you could have a laptop on Board and change parameters??

From what I have read it looks like a stand alone ECU, meaning that it would replace the stock unit completely. You would need a laptop to program it or make any programming adjustments via the MotoHawk of MotoTune tools they offer. It also seems like it is using the CAN bus for programming and monitoring. You might be able to read it with a CAN supported OBDII reader.
