So, after doing this mod, what can I expect? How does doing this mod perform compared to a pump from Floor-It or II?

Chris, (the guy that did the write-up) told me that it would let support about one more setting on my tst. I dont think they can really be compaired to a "real" modded pump, but for free Ill take whatever I can get.

If I would mod my pump like this and decide later that I wanted to send my pump in to Floor-It to become a stage 2, would this be ok?

Question from a newbie:

Does the CP3 mod remove the need for a FASS / Walbro pump installation? I am getting fuel pressure readings down to 1 PSI when I stomp on the pedal (thanks to the Smarty) and I was considering installing a pump system. Is the $400-650 lift pump necessary, or just the CP3 mods?

Help!

Harley, yes you need a Glacier or a FASS system put on. If you can't get the fuel from the tank to the CP3 then your not doing any good. 1 psi is pretty low, sounds like one is in your very near future.

BPM -

1 PSI is only when I really stomp on it, but what's the fun in having a system you can't use to it's fullest, right?!

Any suggestions on FASS vs. Glacier? I have seen folks arguing both ways, Glacier mostly for price and FASS for higher HP needs... Care to give yet one more opinion?!

Glacier all the way. It's a walbro pump that can be easily changed out if it goes out for some reason and it's no where near as noisy as a FASS. To many FASS pumps that I have heard were very loud and obnoxious. Cruising at 75 with a stack on a short bed truck and I could still hear the FASS running. That's loud!

I know how fun it is, I just have to wait a while for warranty to run out before I can start changing stuff out!

like dodgezilla said.. 45-60 min
i pop rivit it back together. the actual mods take 10-15 min tops. the rest of the time is getting your hands/tools in there to get it apart/together.

dificulty? id say 2-3 on the shade tree scale... but you have to DEBURR it
it realy isnt much harder than the tone ring mod, gutting the tube, or removing the silencer ring.

ya but what is this about the surging issue i read? I have an extra fca, im thinking of starting with just doing it only, but i want NO surging it runs very smooth now , just like the thought of increasing flow to the rail.

I tried it last night, the bottom torx bolt twisted my bit and rounded it off...... Dang I was mad! It seemed a lot easier to take the intake horn and the cover for the throttle cable off, I had an extra horn gasket, so no big deal. It gave me a really good view of the pump.

I'm gonna probably have to take the driver side tire off, and the wheel well cover off so I can get a demel in the to notch the bolt so I can get it off, I tried to get some pliers on it (I had already ruined it, why not?), and tried to 'tap' the next size torx in there, but that was a no go, too.
I can get those torx bolts from a good fastner store, right? Or, should I call bosch and get some more...
