powerpup questions
I have an 05 auto with powerpup and it has worked great for several thousand miles. I just downloaded the extreme setting for the first time a few days ago and it seems like it is idling rougher now. not real rough but sitting in the truck you can feel it vibrate a little where i don't think I felt anything before. It runs great and sounds fine above idle and doesn't smoke at all. It has been colder here in the mornings and since my wife drives it mostly I have only been in it a couple times without ever getting it warmed up, could it just be the cold? Could it be too much timing with the extreme and the cold? Or could it be something worse? I haven't yet tried downloading it back to stock to see if that helps. Thanks

When I had my pup on extreme it idled a little rough too. You say it doesn't smoke and that is not what I experienced. I could make thick black smoke at will. The clutch slipped too. Try standing on the go peddle in high gear at about 35 mph. If it doesn't smoke, there is something wrong there.

The check engine light came on and the code was PO237 I believe and the pup said it was a low boost situation. I cleared the code and two days later ( today ) my wife said it was on again. She also thinks it idles rough. The performance setting smoked pretty good but I just put the outlook monitor on the truck just prior to all of this happening. I ran the truck with just the monitor and everything seemed fine. I didn't have any problems until I downloaded the extreme setting.

I`ve never had good luck with the extreme setting on mine. I believe its too much timing for a fairly stock truck (which could explain the rough idle), but thats just my opinion. The extreme setting has thrown codes on mine before, and it didn`t run any better than perf. mode at the track.

I checked the map sensor connection the other day and it was ok, unless I need to put some dielectric grease on it. I was thinking the same thing about too much timing, but I think it ran fine for an hour or two at first and then when I restarted to go wash the truck the check engine light was on. I will try connections again tonight and see if that helps. If it doesn't I will go back to stock and see what happens.

Extreme setting was awsome preformance wise, but occationally I would hear a 'pop' where there shouldn't have been one. It made my clutch slip pretty bad but I kept pretty close to that SRT-10 Ram. I just ordered a Luk cerametallic clutch so that it will hold my Smarty programs. I am putting the PUP up for sale.
