power, usable???

so i have the BD super B turbo, TST, EZ, air intake and exhaust, fuel pump, etc,
now i am wondering since i can't seem to use the TST over 5/5 with out it poping or blowing too much smoke etc, would the other half on the twin turbo set up be better for me, to get my EGT's down, which are on the high side anyway, or would injectors be better.
common sense tells me that i can't seem to burn the fuel now, maybe the injectors will make it alot worser, so maybe twins will allow me to burn all the fuel, and run with less smoke, and more boost, for more power, with less heat.
anybody comment on this.

i think your problem is your not keeping your rail pressure up with your stack. before you do anything turn your tourque setting down to about 2 or 3 on the tst. the tourque setting fuels hard so if it drains your rail right off the bat then with your boxes it cant really come back up. low rail pressure will cause alot of smoke and heat. injectors will help but with a stock cp3 your gonna have to turn the boxes down even more to maintain rail pressure.been there done that. im still on a stock cp3 and i cant run my tst over 4/2 with my ez on 4. thats at the track and my best e.t. imho i think your probaly right at or over the limits of your turbo. converting that turbo into a twin setup would help alot with the heat and smoke.

I agree, you need to look at a bigger turbo or a set of twins. I run my TST on 6/3 with my MP8 almost all the way up. I've found that these settings make the best power(DYNO PROVEN)

Just remember this, the higher the settings doesn't mean the higher the power. You need to put your truck on a dyno and find the best settings. When you find those settings you will find that your temps might go down also. This is what I have found.

You need more air before you get bigger injectors!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mine seems fine with the EZ level 3 and the TST 6/6. 7/7 causes the popping so I don't go that high. I made a couple hard runs last week and temps never hit 1300 degrees. Those injectors are worth it....

a bigger turbo, i thought i had a bigger turbo?????????
i think twins is a better way to go for sure, but the price tag i don't like.
i bought a fuel pressure gauge, need to get that hooked up to make sure the pusher pump is doing its job.i raced a power stroke couple weeks ago, he said he ran a 13.5 at the track, and i beat him by 4 trucks for sure, but my temps were at 1580, and thats where i had the box set at to de fuel,so it was de fueling pretty much the whole race.
needless to say, the ford was not running 13.5's at the track thats for sure.
i know that the temps would have gone higher, lots of smoke, you couldn't see anything behind me for like 5 mins after.never tried the TST on lower torque settings, so i guess i will play with that to see what it does.
just not sure where to go from here and in what order to do it in. i thought about a different innercooler, but will it lower my temps enough???
will meth lower my temps enough and be safe enough??????

The advice these guys gave is good. Try turning that Te setting way down. All this does with your setup, and mine for that matter, is drain the rail, waste fuel and make big smoke and heat. You do have a 'bigger' turbo than stock. It is a good and extremely durable turbo, but it will not cool mega HP. This is strictly the domain of a compound setup for the street anyways, or a large single that is harder to spool.

The Super B turbo will have good street manners and give a broader range and not sacrifice driving characteristics too much. There may be a better choice?? I say twins to go any further. Just more $$$, many more. It is difficult to recommed settings but if you are fogging at WOT, you are probably -not- making max HP.

I am sure folks with much more knowledge can add to this. I hope they do. It sounds like you have a decent setup and I am sure you can make some pretty serious power. Just tune it properly. What are your boost #s?

i agree with you 100%, awsome site for opinions, facts, and knowledge.
my boost numbers are 40 psi, and never been able to get any higher then that. i have the boost elbow on the turbo as well, and kinda like it, as it makes this whistle noise every time you shut the truck down.
40 psi doesn't seem to come on until thrid and over drive, if let say i am cruising down the road and in drive(hasn't shifted into OD yet) and roll on the pedal, psi goes quikly to 40 psi, andi can make the tranny shudder, i don't do this often, just happened to stumble uppon this, and scared me.
anyway, i think i might just forget the injectors for now, and start saving for a 2nd turbo, maybe more tranny upgrades as well.
