Power Puck - my first module?

I want install a module for more power on the lower end. I'm not looking for massive power gains. I would like better throttle response and acceleration, but no smoke. I am not an aggressive driver. I do very little towing.

I searched the forum for Power Puck and it seems to do exactly what I want. However, I have questions that may sound silly (I am a rookie with diesels).

1. Can the puck increase the pressure enough to damage the injectors?

2. Do I need better filtration (2 micron)?

3. Can I use this module without a pyro? I don't want to install one for warranty reasons. Can EGT get out of control?

4. Will the dealer know if there was a module if I remove it before any service?

Thanks for any help!

NO not enough pressure to damage anything, NO you dont need filtration down to 2 microns to run the puck but filtration down to that level is a great safety measure but keep in mind if you filter down to that level you stock lift pump is not going to push enough pressure throught that filter as the filter will cause a good deal of deviance in pressures. You would need to add a gdp kit to bring pressures back up to stock levels on the cp3 side of the filter. Yes you can use this box without a pyro guage as temps dont get anywhere near dangerous levels even if pulling a good size load on the high setting. No egts will mantain at good safe levels. No dealer cant find traces of it as long as you remove it.

It sounds like the module in not going to break anything. Is this a good module to start with or am I wasting my money? I figured I would start with the Power Puck and upgrade or stack in the future (years away) with other mods.

If you want more low end or for maybe a better term less turbo lag why not get a air intake that should speed up your turbo spool.

I think it's a great module, perfect for waking up the truck a little but not too far overboard

Just got my power puck last weekend. It seems to work as advertised. Only issue I have is trying to figure out which way is 60 and 90 on the switch. Seems to be alot of conflicting reports about this. I cannot seem to tell much difference between the 2 settings.

I have one and it DOES add quite a bit of rail pressure when you really get on it hard. I can easily exceed 27000psi with mine. If you drive normally, and keep it on the lower (50hp) setting, then you will be fine. I think the higher setting may hurt injectors gradually.....
