speaking of pressure, i heard the EZ has caused some injector failures or just pre mature wear because of high rail pressure. will the XZT have a problem like this or does it keep at safe levels?

I installed my XZT this morning. The install wetn very smooth, even though i had never installed a module before. The instructions were great, and I finished the install in a little under half an hour.
The power is very noticeable, and is delivered very smoothly. I am heading out 4 wheeling this weekend and will be towing my 18ft car hauler and jeep. I will report back next week.

Edge towing..
What setting is everone using for mountain towing, heavy. Edge recommends setting one but I have a feeling many are at the upper limits and driving by the gages. Also, Dave D..what setting was your Edge on when you got your dyno numbers??

I was thinking of getting the XZT myself. Have any of you running this box noticed any EGT issues. I was going to get my new exhaust first, but ....I want that box!

Well, I got back home in one peice from my trip out wheeling this past weekend. I watched the EGTs alot and the highest I saw was 1100 just for a second. I was climbing a large hill at about 75 heading into the wind. Most of the time the EGTs where very similar to running without thebox.
As for MPG I averaged 13.5 on the way out (headwind, and wrong turn taking us through alot of country roads with stop and go). 14.8 mpg on the way back with the cruise set at 70 mph
Overall I am very happy with the box so far. The power is very smooth and not overwhelming. My feeling is that the XZT box brings the truck up to a level it should have been at from the factory. Plenty of power but still very driveable.
I have not been able to run an entire tank empty to get any mpg stats unloaded

The box is suuuch a great upgrade for this truck.
The 05 throttle is drive by wire, and it is very pronouced with the box, as I can accellerate normal, and have smooth pull up to my speed, however if I start off normal, as I always do for the trannys sake, and then put my foot into it almost instant mega boost, and your in your seat with a little tire roast. I can control the power output with the accelerator as it is acting as a computer controlled sensor.
I feel I got more smoke on hard acceleration without the box, but it is and was a rare occurance that this happens.
I'm not a MPG counter so I cannot testify to that.
If your looking for a towing upgrade, that wakes the motor up just enough to make you grin ear to ear, this will do it. Buy it from City Muffler who is a sponsor of this site, as he is a great guy to deal with.

For those of you HPCR 3rd gen guys looking for more towing, I'd HIGHLY recommend you stay away from pressure boxes, or at least keep them at the very lowest levels.
Don M has posted many pictures showing how the Pressure boxes are eating up injectors.
I box like the TST which does timing and duration is going to be your friend.
