I dont know what is happening but when i am accelerating with my PMT and torque dog turned all the way up it is makeing a poping sound. Any ideas on what it could be?

 

Sounds like you don't have enough fuel due to a delivery issue. Did you upgrade your LP?

 

yes, you are draining the rail. if you install a rail gauge, you will see the pressure drop significantly and then the popping starts.
the popping really isnt a good thing. for the injectors to atomize and spray the fuel in a good pattern they need the pressure that they were designed to run.
low pressure results in a poor pattern and egt's will get pretty high.

 

My egt's do get hot really quick. What can i do to upgrade my line pressure so it will stop.

 

WHat kind of fuel system(LP) do you have? What size lines to the CP3?

A big line kit or an upgraded CP3 with an auxillary lift pump should help your fueling needs.

 

Any suggestions on a company with a good big line kit and aux fuel pump.

CP3 or lift pump? GDP has the big line kit and a coupla differant options on lift pumps.

 

Primarily it will be too much timing for your setup. Also excessive pressure from a pressure box will cause it. Those are the two primary contributors.

 

Get the walbro 392 and big line kit from glacier diesel power. Dont forget a fuel pressure gauge and like they said, a rail pressure gauge would tell you what kind of pressure your running in there.

 

Is surging also a sign of CP3 short of fuel? A LP and a Big Line kit are my next mods.

 

Usually that's the turbo,.. a big single most times. Whatcha running?
