a Block heater is included in all CTD's. Question is did it come with a cord. If so it would be visible uder the passenger headlight above the bumper as a black plug with a cap. If it is not there it can be purchased from the dealer and installed, the guts are already in the engine block.

do a search.

dealer has them, cummins has them cheaper.

look under (udder?) the truck, behind the oil filter, is a plastic coke bottle cap on side of the block, that is the plug in.

screw it in there,
it comes with snaps to locate along the frame, run out the front tow hook, GTG

No need to plug it in until it's below 0F. I haven't had mine plugged in for two winters now. This past weekend it was -10F in the morning after sitting all night and I didn't plug it in. It defainately turned over slowly and the heater would have helped quite a bit. But after two tries it DID start. It starts just perfectly at 10F, I've done that probably 30+ times and nary a problem.

It is a very easy install. dont give a dealership the gratification of charging you 75 bucks for LITERALLY a 5 minute job- and thats with no tools! I did it today in 10 degree weather laying on cardboard in my driveway. And if I can do it, anyone can do it
