Please Post Pics of 06 Mega Cab 2WD tricked out

I bought an 06 2500 Mega Cab 2WD CTD a few months ago and I'd like to get a body lift (not too much) some slightly bigger rims and tires and some nerf bars and maybe a grill gaurd. I've been looking around all the truck accessory web sites and there isn't much available for the Mega Cabs yet. I was just wanting to see some modified 2 WD's and some idea of where to buy/how much. Mega Cabs only please!
Here's mine plain Jane. Now show me yours

Body lifts are junk, look into coil springs. Better off down the road.

Dont destroy that truck with lame accessories like a body lift and a grill guard, nerf bars on your 2wd MC.

I think it would look and very outdated.... Its not the 90's anymore.

Most junk oops I mean accerories that fit 06 QC will fit MC except the obvious.

Try ebay, DTR, TDR, POR, or your local 4x4 parts store.

Not too many 2WD MC's here and you look brave taking that 7Klb 2wd MC on the beach, maybe you should of got 4wd especially since you want to lift it and put big wheels on it. Might be cheaper trading it in and getting a 4wd???

If you truck was mine here's what I would do...

Remove the chrome door moulding
Body colored sport gille
SRT-10 body colored front and rear bumpers
22" inch rims like the srt-10 but im not so sure about the black night runner ones on them but it might look good with the matching night runner headlights.
some sort of suspension like a -2+2" Kelderman air bag kit.

I think it wouold look killer that way and many people would think it cool and updated vs what you had planned. There was a black crewcab D-max a few months back in Diesel Power mag that was 4wd but he lowered it and put 22's on it and it looked nice and stealthy.

I wouldnt try to lift your 2wd MC and put chrome brush guards all over it, if you want to do that just get a 4wd.

Goodluck

Thanks for the input BigDan. I still kinda like the nerf bars myself. I never did really like the grille gaurd and all though.

Oh, and the beach we go out on is pretty solid too or I wouldn't be driving out on it at all. I did want the 4WD but it's 95% a highway truck and we've got a Jeep for the beach usually. This is just a TV for the travel trailer basically.

Simonton Bill, I have the 2wd quad cab. I regret not buying the 4wd but would take to much of a beating to trade it in now. Mine is the inferno red and I added black nerf bars and a black brush guard. I left the chrome grill and the black offsets it alot. My grill guard has the expanded metal in front of the radiator.
That looks like Matagorda beach. I was there alot with my previous Ford F-150 FX4.

Yah, it's at Sargent beach down by Millers cut. I've been going down there for years w and w/o 4WD and have only been stuck once when I did something stupid in a 4X4 Jeep. As long as you stay down by the water and know which entrances to take it's not that bad during the summer. With the rains we've had though it's not advisable now. Hey, if you want to check out a nice truck look at this guy "duece"s gallery. His is all chromed out the way I like it. I like the black too though. Send me a pic.

I think your best best for more styling pics would to be looking for 1/2 ton 2wd quad cabs and mega cabs.

I was just day dreaming the other day and thought it would be cool to have a 4wd MC lowered with Kelderman airbags and made to look like a SRT-10. The all black night runner or a silver one, with a single 6" stack through the bed to let everyone know it was a diesel. It would have the matching seats and everything, It would look like a 2WD and have srt-10 style 22's but would actually be 4wd for use at the track or when you need it. I think your red MC would also look good like that.

really sharp

All I can say is you're a brave Man. Sure the driving been pretty good down there since Katrina and Rita but a couple years back you'd never make it past the clay pits, let alone all the way to the cut, without 4WD. This year, even with the good driving, I've pulled at least half a dozen stuck vehicles from that area.

Drving near the water is particularly treacherous as many years of severe errosion from the Freeport jetties has removed most of the sand from that beach and the clay is unforgiving. It will trap all vehicles 2WD or 4WD.
