Planning on installing a Puradyn bypass oil filter. Anyone have any experience with these. Now much on here about them.

Their new filter media in a 3rd party test removed 100% of sub-micron particles on a 200 hour test. Now, I don't know what size these were, just that they were sub-micron. I'm trying to get the test results right now.

 

If you're trying to remove soot, which is something around 1/100th of a micron, I'm pretty sure there isn't a filter out there that will accomplish that. Don't know of anyone with Puradyn. You can be the first. How much is it running you?

I emailed the distributor in GA, I think it's about a 100 miles from me (Auburn, AL). He said I can get the equipment for 254.20 and replacement filters are 16.18. I'm sure they want extra to install it, might do that myself.

What really got me was an engine with a puradyn was run 616,000 miles without an oil change.

PFT-8 = 270.20 FILTER NOT INCLUDED
Replacement filter = 18.71
Banjo fitting = 30.58

Supply and exit fuel line is not included.

Looks like Asplundh puts Puradyn on ALL their equipment.

I've never installed anything after market that required tapping of fluid lines. Any suggestion on what the best quality hose?

 

Hydraulic lines and fittings that you can have made up locally. Or braided stainless and fittings you can get from Summit or Jegs and make them up yourself. You can also use pushlok hose and fittings which are less money but I've been having issues with mine so they are on the bottom of my list right now.

 

I used ATF cooler hose and hardware store barb fittings and I have a press to do the ferrell crimping. I hardpiped as much as possible with 1/4" SS tubing and Swaglock fittings. Craig
