PIAA Replacement Bulbs

I CAN FREAKIN" SEE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Finally, I have a decent set of headlights. The PIAA replacement bulbs were well worth the investment. These are so much better I can hardly believe it!

I also see a set of replacement foglight bulbs to match and a set of Driving Lights real soon.

Can't remember who reccomended them here but Thanks ! Jim

If you are looking for "cheap" stop reading and go else were. PIAAS are expensive about 70 bucks, but if you want to see better at night, it is a bargan. I tried silvanya silver stars, blue something or the other, and a HO replacement that was worthless. I would have been much happier and saved money if I had gone with ythe PIAAS the first time. Nothing Piaa sells is cheap, but it all works and last. They have one of the best wiring sysytems in existance, it is complete, functional, well made and idiot proof. Some might squack at paying 200 for there 510 series fog lights or 325 for there 525 lights, but they are worth every red cent.
Also I use to have a real bad problem with my lights gathering condensation droplets on the inside of the lenses, this really cuts down on the light projected to the road, it is simply re-directed thru refraction. Also there is the problem of the water dropping on the hot lamps and and killing them. Don't waste your money till you get the water problem solved. I was always told the water comes from having a crack, of bad spot in the lense and air gets in. Well I replaced both front headlights/mountings/corner lights, everything in the front, still water condinsation. It was even worse. So I dilled a small hole in each corner of the headlights, and BOOM, no more water problems. Took several hundred dollars and about a year but I got rid of the problem.

Sorry I didn't answer your question completely.

I put these in 12/31/03 and they went up to 74.99 1/1/2004

Super White Platinum 9007 55/60w=100/110w "Pair" "Free Shipping!"
$69.99

As for installation in a 2003-04 you will need a 1/4" drive ratchet, 10 mm socket and a 6" extension along with a Phillips screwdriver.

The owners manual will give you a step by step where the three bolts are located and the two screws to be removed. Takes about 5 min. per side.

I can't believe the difference in lighting. Jim

Guys, I'm tellin' ya this set of headlight bulbs is unbelievable!

I'm curious as to how well the 520 Series Ion Crystal Driving Lights work. I have to admit that they are a little pricey, but I see a lot of them on vehicles I meet on the road.

Under what conditions are they useful? Are they pretty much just for long lonely stretches of road ? or are they useful anytime you use the High beams?

Would you put an off and on toggle and then tie them to the high beams with a relay and use the OEM switch or would you put an old style floor dimmer switch in the floorboard to kick them off and on?

My '03 Ram is 2WD and I really don't want a brush guard or grille guard, so how would you mount them? Drill a hole in the bumper or fab a bracket? Thanks, Jim

Prosouth, don't try to wire them through the OEM switch unless you use a relay. I burned out two OEM switches that way Dealership would replace the second one under warranty because they finally spotted the add-on driving lights.

PS,
All there (Piaa) lighting systems work great, I have yet to find one that disappionted me, and I am on my 7th set. I think the lenses and reflector are responsable for the clear and distinct lighting pattern. I use the 510's in the back for back-up and area lighting while hooking up to my trailer. And the new 525's up front, they offer both fogand driving lights in one housing that is controled my you in the cab. They also have a unique feature, with have LED's that come on when your marker lights are on, which make the lights look like they are glowing.
Piaa is expensive, but they do as advertised and give you great illumination. The wiring systems are fantastic, and made to work next year and the year after that.

Not sure if this is breaking the thread but for extra lighting I went to 4 ( 2 switches and relays) KC Hilites that are 6 inch and 150watt..I had a set of Piaa 1000 (2 lites) on my last truck and while I wasnt disapointed I didnt know what Light was till i got this set up..I have the outside 2 pointed along each ditch and the middle 2 set down the middle of the road.. I have them aimed for 400yards and figure if i cant stop by then I'm going wayyyy to fast and at that distance I can see evey little detail perfectly..these lights are a sealed beam unit and are only 15 bucks each to replace them if they burn out...i put in all 4 for the price of the 2 small PIAA lights and for my uses I cant go back

I just orderd a set from autoperfection posted above. They were 66.95 and included shipping and handling...I can't wait...I wish there was a way to adjust the headlights up or down on these trucks...can only go side-to-side....

I know, I wish they would go up and down myself.

I was looking at maybe putting a washer between the housing and body at the outboad lower bolt and the inboard lower bolt and maybe tilting it up a little. J
