PIAA 540 Light Kit For Dodge Rams

Wondering if anyone has tried these lights yet in the factory fog lamp locations. It looks like Piaa is making a kit for these to fit in the factory location for our trucks. I was wondering if anyone has tried these out yet, I may look into buying these in a driving light instead of switching to HID lights. These 540 lights are 5" around, that just seems big to be fitting in the stock location, I was thinking the factory fog lights were not that large. Just wondering what everyone thinks of these lights.

I do not know of the kit yet nor have I looked at it. However I don't think a 5" will fit in there, unless they are mounting it behind the actual hole located in the bumper. I have a set of 5" lights I was looking at putting in there and they do not fit, the bumper hole is a touch oblong and too short for the 5" to fit correctly. I did not remove the entire plastic surround though, so perhaps I am speaking too soon...

Just my .02.

I just upgraded to HID headlights and now my factory fogs w/ PIAA xtreeme white's look yellow. I wish someone made white LED's 9006's for my factory fogs to match better w/ the HID because PIAA's dont cut it.

I also dont want to spend another $220 on HID kit for the fog lights, I rather just have the color. roundeyes sells HID lights that will fit in the factory fog holes.

The 540 series wont fit in the stock location, but the 510 series will. Definitely go with the driving style, as the yellow fog lights suck, but the driving lights are BRIGHT!!!
I have 3 pair of piaas on mine. 2 510, 1 Fog, one Driving, and one 540 in driving. I actually think that the 510 driving, which is smaller, is brighter than the 540 driving! And they are supposed to be the same lamp i think!

Bump... any others give the driving beam a try? These are mount specific for the fog location-
http://www.piaa.com/Lamps/Lamps-VS08.html
If anyone has them I was wondering if they can be aimed down some and supplement the lows.

The other idea I had was these: http://www.warn.com/truck/lights/sdb-160hbe.shtml
Looks like the size is right for that location but the question is how well either beam would supplement the lows when aimed right?

piaa 510 driving lights are only meant to be run as brights, and if left on with oncoming traffic, will cause other motorists to throw objects at your truck, and guarantee you a 'failure to dim' ticket.

I have the 540 in the stock driving light location and they are bright. I get flashed alot if I use them. I just couldn't justify the price of a stock replacement (rock went through factory light) when I could get the 540's for about the same price.
