Nothing fancy. It is tight, but slides in the provided space nicely. It will more than likely be resting against the battery box, so time will tell if chaffing will be an issue. The plastic filter housing is pretty tough. Angle the top towards the engine slightly and that "should" provide enough space for a 5" cobra elbow coming off the top to clear the hood. Reduce that to 4" and route to the turbo. I already have the mount for my IAT sensor fabed up. Just need to bend some brackets to support the housing so it is not bouncing all over. Waiting for time to put it all together.

Well, I wanted to take a few shots of the housing for this filter and post for all to see. It is impressive. Unfortunately, I have misplaced my digital camera. Been looking for it for three days now with no luck.

I just read all this and have a headache. After reading all this for the past hour, I think the end conclusion is this: The stock filter works very well and unless I bomb my truck, no other filter is going to do any better for a stock truck. I think I'll go take a nap now.

I think we can all agree it is enough for a stock truck (don't know about "very well"). However, some members have reported a measurable improvement just by opening up the stock filter housing so it is not having to suck through the fender. Drilling a few 2" holes in the bottom work well. Some folks have made some neat air box mods using PVC elbows from Home Depot.

That sounds like the reason my last one went missing.

Finally got the BHAF installed. It looks really good sitting there. I'm in a hurry right now but I thought I'd throw a few pics out there. More later.

First the ugly. This is a pic of the inside of my intake tube after running the AFE PG7 for approx 4,000 miles. The two lines are where I ran my fingers through the dirt. Some folks seem to be having better luck with these than I. Never again for me.

Now for the good stuff. The BHAF fits really well. It sits in the space provided with almost no room to spare. I made two mounting brackets to hold the front and the intake pipe takes care of the rear. The bottom edge of the housing is resting on the metal charged air pipe going into the intercooler. That is the only place it touches anything. Clears the battery box by about 1/4 inch and clears the alternator by about 1/2 inch.
