Ordered Tranny today!!

Well I knew I was gonna have to get a new tranny but didn't expect it to be this soon, I was hoping to make it till the summer, but hey even though I don't have the money I'm excited anyway. I just ordered a goerend with billet input shaft, billet flexplate, a shift enhancer, and obviously the billet 3 disc converter. I was gonna do the output and intermediate but I just couldn't afford em right now so I'll have to do them this summer when I do my turbo and injectors. I had to put this on a credit card already. It otta hold up a lot better though, i've been through 3 stock ones, I'm glad to finally get one that will last.

Good Lord man! What did you do to the other three? How many miles are on your rig? I am on 85k with my 05 and am saving for a Goerends also. Keep us posted.

I talked to Dave on the phone when I was looking around and he really does know his stuff. other posts on here say that he builds all his own stuff. he was very friendly to talk to and didnt push anything. I would try out his stuff if I didnt have an HTS.

I had a bully dog with crazy larry and had a little to much fun, then on this last one I was trying to show off and boosted off really hard and now its gone. And yes Dave is a really nice guy, that definately knows his stuff. And I think the main reason I went with goerend is because of their customer service, their warranty, and that they know what they're talking about. I also like that when you call you actually talk to the guy that builds the transmissions, not some operator that has no idea how to help you. And they're hand built and tested, not made by a computer like bd and ats

So are you doing the trans swap yourself or having it done? Also, how many miles on your rig?

I was gonna do it myself, but can't get ahold of a trans jack and I don't really have time so texas diesel power is doing it for me. My truck only has 50 k on it. Not near enough miles to go through 3 trannys. But I did find out that the dealer was being cheap on every rebuild from a friend of mine that worked at a different dealer and checked what the other dealer did each time so the trannys should've lasted longer, but since they were covered under warranty, the dealer was really cheap and didn't do it right. I also pull alot too though, so thats a factor also

I have the exact same trans. Couldn't afford the billet int/out either at the time. Wish I would've spent the money cause if I'm gonna push it further, I'm going to need it and it's going to cost a whole bunch to pull the trans and tear it all apart again. Think long and hard before you do just the input... think of the labor costs involved in doing it all again. Save yourself around $1000 by doing it all now. Trust me... Unless you just stick with the billet input. Hey it's holding up fine at my level currently.

Ya I know, I really wanted to do it, but I talked to dave about what I was doing with the truck and how i really didnt have the money right now, and he said that since I don't plan to go above 600 hp, then the tranny should hold up fine with just the billet input and flexplate. But ya your right, if i had the money right now, i know it would be a hellofa lot smarter to do it all right now. I'm just struggling just to pay for this right now though

I just got my Goerends tripple disc T/C, V/B and Servo from Dave on Wednesday. Got the BD flex plate from XDP Diesel (same one Dave uses) can't wait to get them installed. Looking forward to see how much of a difference these tranny parts make. Dave is great to deal with he even sends instruction with pictures to ease installation problems
