I just want to say thanks to everyone who has answered my questions to all my posts. I FINALLY ordered my truck today!! (YEY) I found a dealer in Ramsey N.J. only about 35 mi. from my home. Im having built a 2500 Q.C. short bed diesel, Laramie 2uj package, Mono tone red. Dealer offered me an awsome trade in on my 98 GMC stepside, and worked with me to keep my payments low. Also gave me the chrome tubular step package for nothing, And that was a $1,200 option in the showroom. Got the truck pretty much loaded, except NAV, moonroof, and the U connect phone thingy. told me 8-12 weeks for delivery, thats the bad part, but I can wait. At least Ill have a brand spankin' new truck for the summer I think for the first Mod. I'll prob. call up Kyle, and get a set of gauges to keep tabs on EGT's, boost and either fuel press. or trans temp, what do you guys reccomend between those two?? Second mod will prob. be the Rumble Bee bolt on scoop. Will save me almost a Grand than going with the SRT-10 hood. I'm proud to say I will soon be a TRUE diesel member!! I cant wait. keep the comments and ideas coming. Thanks guys!!

 

You appear to be saying you ordered a truck today (April 14). If so, you might want to double check with your dealer on this, but my understanding is that the cutoff date for placing an order for an 05 truck was April 13 at 11:00am. It has been reported that after that date/time the DC computer still accepts the order but a couple weeks later you will be notified that the order won't go through. I'm not trying to bring you the bad news, just the facts as I have heard them.

 

Besides the cutoff date, I have some more bad news. In the northeast, it takes anywhere from 12 to 18 weeks to take delivery. It usually sits in the port for 2-4 weeks before delivery for customs and other federal import inspections. Figure at least 1 month after it leaves Mexico for you to get it. (if they are still building them in Mexico for '06 year)

 

I looked on the internet for 2005 Dodge ram build cut off dates, I really didnt find anything specific. I found cut off dates for rebates and discounts that ended around mid April, but no cut off for 2500 trucks. Only thing I saw as a build cut off, and it wasnt that specific, was a date of May 15th. I called my dealer, he said he looked into it, and told me I will get my truck, and the only cut off he saw was for 3500 trucks. As far as a long delivery date, I heard about that, but I cant complain, cause this dealer gave me like 3 grand more on my trade in, than anybody else, and knocked off like 6 grand off the sticker, and threw in the Chrome tubular step package, a $1200 dealer option at his place, for free. So, having to wait 2 months or so, is worth the deal. I'll keep my fingers crossed, and will just have to wait and see.

 

Congtrats Badd Dogg....It will be worth the wait.....However, the northeast averages 4 months for the wait. Mine took 4 1/2 months. ( my dealer told me 6-10 weeks)
