Scott,
How are they holding up now? I recently saw that Firestone has a 315 and 285 in MT, and am considering them. I've also heard the 315 is a little shorter than other 315's, which might have me thinking about going up from the 285's that are on it now. Is your truck stock height, with the 315's? Rubbing issues?

They are holding up great. I am not a perfect candidate though.. I only have about 3k miles on them so far, since I don't drive this truck often... But.. they are still looking brand new. I am very happy with them. I don't have any issues with rubbing, and my truck is bone stock...

I like everything about Toyo MTs (especially in 37"x12.5") except the wear rate - which means I like them as much as any other tire on our trucks... maybe I need to get my right foot aligned!
They're a bit squirmy the 1st few thousand miles until the lugs shave down, then 15K miles later they're pretty much done - then we use them as slicks for another year.
Never hit steel yet!

There's a guy in my neighborhood running the 35 Mt's on his '03 3500 CTD. He towed an 8000# trailer(aluminum boat on top w/motor in the bed) to Honduras and back from San Diego. No flats, rotation or rebalance to date. He estimates they've got 23,000 on them now and I'd say he's got 15,000 safe miles left in them. At one pt.,down there he had to air down to 9psi,and they pulled it off. The guy's sold.

I bought my toyo mt's after having a horrible 22k mile experience with my nitto TG's 285/75R17's E rated I tow a 14k lbs GN up and down donnor grade pretty regularly then on dirt roads up some steep grades. my nittos were wiped out down to less than 15% tread at that mileage. I changed from BFG 315's because of sidewall squirm when loaded. the nittos were worse but i owned em.
I bought these 5 35"x17" toyo MT's used mounted on H2 wheels with 2 brand new with nubs and some mild sun checking on the lugs, 3 at 50% tread with moderate sun checking only on the treads. I paid $550, i peeled 4 tires off, put the two best in the front of my truck and the two 50% tread tires in the back. I turned around and sold the 5 wheels and the one remaining toyo for $400 and .......... for $50 in my mount and balance I had $200 on a set of tires to experiment with. that was at 124k miles i have 140k now, i have been to montana 3k miles round trip doing 75-80 mph, and had the truck hooked to the GN for the balance of those miles towing in CA and off the paved roads. the rear tires are getting down to 1/3 tread. the fronts still look like 3/4+ tread. I have not rotated and do not care about these tires but after 16k miles on these tires all i can say is I swore i would never ever run another MT and these have changed my opinion. they are a very firm side-walled tire, very stable with heavy loads, no sidewall squirm and they do not wonder on the road. they are a little noisier. they grip well, clean well and if i get 30k miles +/- i will be tickled pink. I wish they would make the M55 in something close to this size. a 315/70R17 or a 285/75r17, 295/75R17 in that M55 in a heavy casing and E rated i would buy 2 set tomorrow but they dont and for now i have to say these Toyo MT's so far are the stiffest sidewall i have yet to drive/ tow with in an oversize e rated tire.

I've got about 29K on a set of 35" MT's and although they have been pretty decent I can't say they are worth the money. I'm looking at Firestone Destination MT's if I go with another MT or the Bridgestone Revo 2's if I go with an AT. I don't really need a MT but sure do like the way they act. Not sure the Stone MT's will handle wet pavement very well due though. The problem with AT's are they aren't MT's and I sure wish there was a good E rated tire in the middle. I don't tow super heavy but do tow enough to want an E especially with the weight of the truck alone even without a heavy load.

I had to give up on the MT's 295/70/17r I could only get 25 to 30k out of them they performed great just not tread life.
So I upgraded to 18 inch wheels and went with 275/70/18R Toyo M55 a 33.6 inch tire and very happy.
Performs as good or better and tread life looks to increase 50% or More

I have good luck with the Cooper Discover ST maxx tires. I have them in a 285/75 17 on factory wheels and leveling kit. Granted the front is compltly new from ball joints to steering box. Drives great, hauls great, good in the snow. Like them!

Here are the Toyo Open Country A/T II tires. I saw some of these the other day on a 2500 and they really looked like some good tires. Supposed to wear well and handle weather pretty good etc. Anyone here run these tires?
I still have the Michelin LTX MS2 tires I have been on for a couple sets (different trucks) and not unusual at all to get at least 70k out of a set with rotation etc. But they are street tires E rated. Kind of a more open tread and they work great. No complaints.

Toyo AT's are no better. I have never gotten more than 30K out of a set. I keep buying them because of the 50K warranty. It's like having a huge coupon when you need tires.

Now there are 3 versions of the ATs, mine are doing ok so far but, I sure wish they had larger M55s too.
My brother has had enough of BFGs wearing out too soon so I think he is going to try the Toyo AT Extremes out. Seems like everyone has different results with both BFG and Toyo. I think my M55s were better in the snow.
