A buddy of mine just got an 06& he thinking about duals that dont drone.
Question is, He was told if you remove kitty the truck will throw codes & go into limp mode.

I don't know about the drone question. But, removing the cat will not throw codes. There are no sensors hooked up to it, it is just an exhaust restriction.

No codes here either. Not really sure how you could get codes from removing the cat. I'm pretty sure when they do engine testing they do it on a stand with just a straight pipe anyway. That's what I've heard anyway. I'm talking about the engine in general, not one that's already been in a truck. Just thinkin' outloud now. No, you will not get codes. Good luck with a no-drone setup. From what I've read, it's pretty much hit and miss if you get it or not.

Only EGR systems on CATs will throw codes (GM and Ford). Once you remove the CAT, you lose the backpressure in the system and the EGR will not function properly. Dodge doesn't use EGR........yet.

staarma is right. Dodges do not throw codes as they do not rely on the backpressure from the cat for the EGR. You can put a turbo back kit on a Cummins and everything will be fine.
