not a fun clutch swap!!

well i guess i already had a double disk from stock, its a LUK, and we pulled the pressure plate off and the first disk, then tried to pull the middle plate off but i guess the second disk welded its self to that middle plate and fly wheel, so now i just got done cutting holes in the middle plate with a torch to be able to get to the bolts that hold the fly-wheel on, im waiting for every thing to cool off, then ill report back and post pics when i got the SBC instaled.

the dual mass flywheel bolts up like a tourque converter. there is a cover plate on the front oppisite side of the starter the flywheel bolts to a flexplate type plate. there are 8 bolts that need to be removed the it will come out like a torque converter all one piece. i left my pressure plate and clutch still attached.

I hope you were gonna replace the flywheel and clutch anyway cause now you have to
Let us know what your gonna put in it and how it works. My Dual Mass flywheel is screaming for mercy every time I hit wide open throttle. The clutch holds just fine but that flywheel makes some noise at full throttle.

You got the flywheel and DD clutch I take it? If you dont mind me asking, what does that setup cost for the G56 equipped trucks? PM me if you dont mind.
Keep me informed on how it does.

The rattle is normal. It's the center plate floating around.

Like he said. The rattle is normal.

I dyno'd my truck 3 hours after I installed the clutch. I wouldn't recommend it though.

Instead of typing everything, I made some pics. You can save them to your computer.

This is what you should have gotten in the box:

SBC Instructions1

SBC Instructions 2

SBC Instructions 3
