no fuel at common rail

here we go. no fuel at rail when i cracked and completly removed pressure valve. plenty of fuel at filter thanks to fass 150 and toggle switch. can i test fuel control switch? code's p0628 and p2509. 0628 due to bypassing ecm with toggle. 2509? cleaned both neg. posts and charged bat's. anyone have any other ideas?

no not yet. first i need to figure out how much this will cost me to fix first. are the ones that just plug into the pressure switch worth anything?

ok bud well how do you know you're not getting any pressure to the rail and not to the cp3? You need to get your codes cleared and get gauges. If you took your valve out then thats why you are throwing codes. GET GAUGES. All rail gauges plug into the rail sensor. Fuel psi before the cp3 taps into the bango bolt

i know i have fuel pressure through the filter because when i run the lift pump and open the drain valve on the filter i get fuel shooting out. after removing the pressure valve on the rail and even attempting to start the engine i get no fuel spray. i understand gauges are needed and someday will be installed but without them i am pretty confident in my backwood trouble shooting as to where pressure is and is not.

so are you asking me why there's no fuel shooting out when you take the valve out. Did the code appear before or after you took the valve out....AND DO NOT release ANY fuel lines on the high pressure system while running. It can SERIOUSLY hurt! 7k psi at idle

the codes were before any removal. i just tried to crank it over to check if there was pressure at the rail. noone was around and i was inside the truck i understand the hazzard. is there a way to test the fuel control actuvator? or at this point is the cp3 just shot. after my lift problem i'm not sure the ecm is any good. the lift pump was good it was just not getting any power from the ecm.

well that adds a whole new fact. OK will ur truck run with everything put back in place? Ur gonna have to get a rail gauge...quadzilla is cheap. Also not possitive but I dont believe any fuel will come out if the valve is not in. Dont think they would design it that way because it's designed to open at 26-27 Thousand pounds of pressure. Imagine that comming out the end of the rail

If you are into doing stuff yourself you can crack the outlet line of the cp3 to see if any at all is getting out but not all the way open. If not, pm Llyod Mills or Timinva and tell them your problem. Im sure they will be more than willing to help and be better than me from here out. They both are great guys and Very smart.. but very busy.
