Does anyone make a straight pipe replacement for the muffler or is that something I would have to have made at a custom muffler shop?

If your wife is anything like mine, she will hate the straight pipe and I think you will eventually also. I put the 51" Nelson 86131M on and it is wonderful! Nice roar on the outside but quiet on the inside. Full 4" straight through.

Nothing to hide. I was just making a suggestion to him based on my personal experience.

On my 04, I replaced the Stock Cast Elbow, and factory DP with the Banks DP. I then replaced the rest of the factory pipe except for the Tail pipe (which I reused) with 7 feet of 4 inch pipe. I traded the factory muffler for a Flo-Pro straight through design... I couldn't be more happy with the results. I've put about 9k on the truck with it on taking several trips pulling 10,000lbs and it's been great. NO DRONE at all... just a nice rumble out of the tail pipe.

I did the same as Nitro except I used a Magnaflow muffler. No problems here and low EGTs too......

After eight hours of towing heavy against a headwind, I get the ol' "head in a bucket" syndrome and everything seems loud. Even the stock exhaust sounds loud at that point. But around town, I like the sound of a straight through glass pack. No raspy sound but a thick tight sound. Music to my ears!
I just put over 700 miles on our truck and 5th wheel Sat and Sun so the drone is fresh in my head. Not that my truck is too loud but after a few hours of hills and head wind, everything sounds loud. My Mrs isn't bothered by it at all.
Afrin helps alot...

I just got what Big Bob has. I really like it and no drone. For some reason it feels like it is easier to shift.

On the 04.5 the pipe is 4" from the turbo to the tip and I could not see buying a complete exhaust. $85 for the Nelson 86131M and $50 to have a local muffler shop install. Best upgrade I made on the truck except for the PUP.
