Im tryin to make up my mind on what to do right now. Morkable wants to try the HOT/SMARTY stack but I heard from one guy that he got real bad surge with it. I suppose he probably didnt have the turbo you have either though. I've only got the dough to go with one thing and the SMARTY looked like the answer but then I see posts like LUKEN who had severe problems and I wonder.

Anybody know if I do go with the Bullydog Scary Larry, can I purchase it outright or do I still have to send it off after purchasing one???

I would like to go with the TST-R49 amd get all the goods that are offered there like rail preassure and the cool-down timer but then you hear about the occational problems like you have had. I only deliberate becouse I havnt decided on what was the right decision for someone who has high HP goals while daily/work driving. It sounds like you've tried most of what I was considering.

Im also gonna be doing 6" stacks soon as I have all of the parts to do it except the muffler that I cannot decide on.

Thanks in advance of your advice.
True the Juice/Smarty stack doesn't seem to be a popular one...but i have not read or seen anywhere where it flat didn't work.

Unless you have a fuel system, turbo, and a full billet tranny, Scary Larry is out of the question. However the Triple Dog does not require all of these mods. Its very versatile....Tow on 50hp all the way to Scary Larry on 260hp.

I'm about to give my TST another shot. The TST i have is the R47 which is standard programming only with no cool features. I'm gonna upgrade it to all of the cool stuff except rail pressure....since you must originally buy an R49 to get the rail pressure options. Thats ok with me, I have a Quadzilla XZT that I absolutely love. Furthermore, the TST on my truck has never been updated and came off of an 03 truck. Lord only knows when the module was programmed...could have been as long ago as 2002.

I'm almost 100% sure you can still only get the true scarry larry on 05 autos.... My buddy tried the 2.2.7 and it didnt compare. But like Tim said, you can make up the difference with fluxs....

Can anyone explain to me why guys running the tst/bully dog have ZERO timing problems then when we put the smarty on the truck it has SERIOUS timing rattle issues????? .... Even after we take the smarty off.....

not sure on that Luken about the Smarty part, but I can tell you about a friend that has put 2 motors in his truck with that combo you run. I will be glad to put you in touch with him so you can figure out what he is doing wrong if you like?

I will get his number and send it to you monday, he must beat the crap out of this truck he is on his 3rd HTS tranny number 2 turbo also. on your deal I dont think they have ignored it they just dont have a answer and dont want to B.S. you. I feel your pain I have been down this road before not with the truck Thank God. But if it happens I would have to turn the truck over to John and have him figure it out for me. We demand alot out of our trucks then we tune them to the moon and something happens were hard pressed to figure out what happned. Thats what I call blazing the Trail, and right now you are one of the few that have blazed the trail with high H.P. on a CR truck.

Im only lacking the turbo to get the Scary version but if it only works on 05's then that might be another eliminated possibility. Well I hope Marco or Bob will post on some of these ?'s in the near future to cure up a little.

I'm looking to go to the Scary Larry and I'm nervous how that will shift. I don't use the low end option because of the shifting.

Do you have any solutions to the electronic actuator? James Northum and I don't
1st,.. the Scary Larry IS 2.2.7. If you have that then why would you send it in???

2nd,... you asked for opinions,... turn that TST down with that stack and you'll have much better power. Just a starting point but from what you mentioned and your mods show I would say 5/2 or maybe 5/1. Either one will give you much better power than the 7/7 in that stack.

I bought it and it doesn't work like on the '05s. It is strickly an '05 mod and it is hot but not for us. I don't think on my 04.5 that it is comparable with just a normal power pup CLDL,.. seriously. And it definitely doesn't play well with others on the 04.5. It was a real dog when I had it stacked up. It did better by itself with nothing else but sticks and turbo.

Please Re-Read my posts.....

Tim sent me 2.2.7 CRAZY LARRY...not SCARY LARRY.

When the TST WAS stacked with CRAZY LARRY, it was never turned higher than 5/5. I tried 5/0, 5/1, 5/2, 5/3, 5/4, 4/2, 4/3, well you get the idea.

I turned the BDDL to STOCK then tried 7/7 and had absolutely nothing til 25psi.

Theres a guy known as "DieselNut" on CumminsForum who tried Scary Larry in his 06 and blew something out of the valve body while at the strip.

Theres a huge misconception about the actual Scary Larry.....People get it confused with Crazy Larry really easy. I have the REAL Scary Larry.....from Nathan at Xtreme Truck and Trailer. Bullydog does not offer this program...it costs $50 and you must send in your Triple Dog.

Scarry Larry is not 2.2.7 that you get from bully dog...

On the dyno Scarry Larry/ tst on 5x2 did 640hp. tst on 7x2 did 659. Try turning the tq on the tst down to 1 or 2.

Not only am I confused i'M GETTING pretty miffed unless someone can straighten this out,... FINALLY!! I talked with Maianne and Dusty a gazillion times on this since it ran so shi..y! They varified that the 2.2.7 was the Scary Larry and you got yours from the same people and you're telling me that isn't the version????? That had better be the version or everyone on any forum will know about it. Further I called the people that loaded that thing for HTS, Extremem Truck, that 973604X4 posted a few days back and they varified the 2.2.7 number so what gives here??? Your up....

I think the point was theres two different 2.2.7 programs. Both say Crazy Larry!!! on the triple dog.

The difference is:

Regular Crazy Larry: When uploading the Bullydog, no options for torque management or throttle sensitivity.

SCARY LARRY: still says Crazy Larry!!! on the triple dog, but when uploading the program you have the options for torque management and throttle sensitivity.

Ok,.. when you posted about Xtreme Truck I called Nathan and he said they loaded my program for HTS and yes it cost $50 extra as I bought the Triple Dog from HTS with it loaded on there. Nathan told me that it was the Scary Larry program if it had the choice for Sensitive throttle and for Torq Mgt delete. Mine has that. And it runs like c..p on my truck compared to SMARTY or PPE HOT either one. So it's just one of those "it runs different on different trucks thing" or I don't have the right friggin' program. And Luken just said the 2.2.7 was not the right program. Lucas you know I've been asking you for the version number for several weeks and you can't find time to get it but yet you say what I have isn't the real deal. I want to know what the version is or I'm gonna be calling out Xtreme and HTS on this deal b-4 anyone else gets screwed.
