new turbo and toys....talk me through this.
I kept my tst as a boost fooler and turbo timer. But I might clear some of the wiring out and just get the quad fooler. You can make all the egt and power you want with a 2.2.7 and fluxs. No need for the scary larry. Add a little press and your snow kit and it will scream. You will be hitting your top speed govn, that will be the next obsticle. Tim
I have a Quad boost fooler if I need it when i ditch the TST...i'm confused as to why i would need it.
Is it possible to take out my injectors and have Don M work them over for the same effect as buying Flux 1's?
Our turbo has a elbow that acts like a wastegate, but when you exceed what the engine sees as excessive boost it will give a fault code, and then put your truck into a limp mode, the boost fooler just makes the engine think that it is only getting around 32 psi max, even when it is getting 50
As for the injectors, Don should be able to rework your injectors as he will most likely just put tips on. How many miles do you have on your truck now. After about 40k miles alot of companies dont like to change nozzles anymore.

dang it....rolled 53,000 miles today. Flux 1's are $1100 on the F1 website...is there a DTR discount? I'll search.
Tim- Any reason I shouldn't use Scary Larry? it would be lots cheaper than injectors.....I don't intend to go much past this round of mods. I would like to have injectors though....
53k in a year? Pretty impressive. I'm at 119k. AFAIK there is no DTR discount unless you get over 10k posts at which point you get 50% off.
Why not at least try the scary larry? If you don't like it can't you just go and download the crazy larry program back into the bullydog? What have you got to lose by trying it. It's only money.

Injectors are nice, as long as you dont go too big,, a good set of 50ish will even boost fuel mileage. Im excited to see what dpp and barry are cooking up for me, he told me it is going to be perfect for my combination and driving situation. Im kind of expecting that they will take a set of 50's and enlarge them a bit, maybe to 70ish

wish i had the money for injectors....all this stuff is drowning me out!
UPDATE:
Scary Larry/EZ stack is my decision. The Scary Larry is version 2.2.7
To be totally honest, I am running a Smarty/TST stack on my truck right now. with the Smarty on 4 and the TST on 0/0, i get some kind of rattle while taking off past half throttle...and weird rattle/noise at other times.
The Smarty has the power down low....but theres a spot in between where i can move the pedal up and down with no result...no change in RPM or boost. Don't like that at all...touchy down low, nothing in the middle, and some in the top. Not consistent like Bullydog...I also have more injector noise with the Smarty on my truck...even at idle. i'm just remembering more and more why I love my bullydog.

I assume you have talked to MADS about the "not much middle power" and they dont have a fix? I wasnt sure with the new software coming out all the time if you had tried any other programs. It looked like they helped several others with their problems.
Im tryin to make up my mind on what to do right now. Morkable wants to try the HOT/SMARTY stack but I heard from one guy that he got real bad surge with it. I suppose he probably didnt have the turbo you have either though. I've only got the dough to go with one thing and the SMARTY looked like the answer but then I see posts like LUKEN who had severe problems and I wonder.
Anybody know if I do go with the Bullydog Scary Larry, can I purchase it outright or do I still have to send it off after purchasing one???
I would like to go with the TST-R49 amd get all the goods that are offered there like rail preassure and the cool-down timer but then you hear about the occational problems like you have had. I only deliberate becouse I havnt decided on what was the right decision for someone who has high HP goals while daily/work driving. It sounds like you've tried most of what I was considering.
Im also gonna be doing 6" stacks soon as I have all of the parts to do it except the muffler that I cannot decide on.
Thanks in advance of your advice.

tristan here is my thought on all this. I feel if you have not ran a down loader of any kind in you truck then I would say go smarty reason why I say this is because Smarty only does Dodge trucks so all there R&D time goes into the Dodge and not shared chevy or ford like most of the rest out there, Smarty is new to the market and is making updates all the time there going to stay on top of it t make there product better and the up dates will come out alot faster then from someone that does all the above. I have a Smarty and have been very happy with it now getting the smarty to go into my truck was another story I had brand X downloader in and it put some overseas back up files in it and had a heck of a time to get the smarty to go in but John got it to go and all is well but I got lucky I did not have any problems after I removed the smarty put it back to stock. now if I would of had a problem then the blame goes on me because I pushed the keys on the loaders. now I know that the programs in the smarty I have now all work good and stack well with my TST and Dr Performance. Lets go to the next level say I down load the new wild tune install and run into a problem. Who is at falt? I am would I call bob and ask for help? sure Bottom line if it is something they cant fix then you have to be ready to be a man about it bottom line. they have people wanting the rev limit moved up 3800 4000 cant waite to read post on that one when someone hangs the rods out the block. All I can say if your planing or ever think about going smarty get it first if you dont like it sell it and try some other downloader I would just say dont go the other way and try and come back to the smarty you might have problems. Like I said I got Lucky
Thanks for the info stang that sounds logical. Im still not sure about the juice stack (wishing I had the TST) but I think most of the people that tried it and had problems had also had other DL's in it prior to the smarty.
I have never had a DL in my truck so no problems there. I'll do some more deliberating and think about it some. Over the course of the next year or so I hope to be doing alot of these mods to my truck as time at home and money permits so I want to have my homework done. I dont mind having problems with my truck as much as I would wasting money on boxes that dont perform.
I think unless I hear sound proof otherwise SMARTY sounds like the best deal going and I will probably order this week. Just waiting to find out when I will be home next.

I personally dont think you can go wrong with the smarty, even though I havent tried it yet, I have heard enough good, and not that much bad that I think it would work excellent. Although I am sure happy with my predator
