New Turbo quick question

Just got a new Aurora 3000 installed. It feels 10 times better then the old stocker, the thing is I noticed it is shifting at around or above 3500 rpm. Used to shift around 3 or 3200.

Do I need to worry about it?

I just got it back this evening and haven't played with it too much yet, so no hard data. I haven't even done a run at WOT

I do have a mildly built tranny and am running my flashpaq at the highest setting

It should not be shifting at redline when you haven't even done a WOT run. Something else is your culprit weather it's trans or fuel ned more info.

I guess I should be more specific, the run was at about 3/4 throttle.

I am worried about over reving the engine. The truck has been shifting as usual today with just regular driving.

What is the normal max RPM's people are seeing with a tuner and turbo? I just have the factory tach and the redline is at 3000. With my tuner maxed out it will shift at around 3200 WOT. I am just a little nervous to be hitting 3500 and not even being fully into it.

Turbo should have zero effect on shifting.

Unless the truck is making more power and something is slipping causing the rpm's to flash faster than it can shift to the next gear. Or it is just blowing through the converter.

My dad called me all worried about his transmission because his car was doing the same thing. Come to find out it was hazing the tires ever so slightly at 50mph and he couldn't tell.

So there are several things that could cause it to do that.

Everything seems to be functioning properly, just faster. Lots faster. It is a steady sweep of the needle, just goes there in a hurry.

Going to play with it more today, we'll see... maybe I'll get a vid

I had this turbo on my truck. With just a smarty it did ok. When I put 70hp injectors they were to much for it with egts going high. Its not much if any upgrade to your stock turbo.
