It is all about how you mount it ... as mounted on my wife's truck, exhaust takes the path of least resistence ... so about 75% exits the dump. But, if the y had the straight part going to the SP and the "y" part going to the muffler, when the butterfly is closed, it can only go to the muffler. But when open, the path of least resistence will always be stright section of the y in to the SP. Make sence ?

it's a cool video - give it a minute to load

plus, QTP is the recommended electric cutout by most folks.

you can tell be the photoes that the stock pipes stay open. There is no valve in that pipe. I want one. . . . . . .

Yeah this may be the ticket... I would love to have the cut out before the cat and then run it back into the same tip at the rear. But I don't know of any good muffler shops here in San Antonio. This setup would be ideal though.

So I took another look and I can get the y pipe 2 butt clamps and the cutout for less than $300. Then all I would have to do is hack a section out and clamp it on. But it looks like as was mentioned before the cat is too tight to the turbo so it would have to be moved back to work. Lets say you can get over this hurdle, then where would you go to find a shop that could do all this and get the exhaust to return into the factory tail section? Big rig place? I want the pipe to be mandrel bent... where should I start calling to find out about this.

we do it up here in DFW all the time. You can buy mandrel bends and tell the installers to weld it in. My total labor price was $100 including the straight section of pipe. I am buying 2 Y pipes from Race Ready Performance. So the only fab up required is swaping flanges (which RRP is doing) and welding straight pipe between 2 y pipes. About 1 hour. My total for everything out the door is $450ish. Just waiting on parts to arrive.
